Once upn a time, a fisherman caught a bttle in his fishing net. When he pened it, a great clud came ut and became a genie! “Prepare t die!” shuted the genie. “A lng time ag, I made a prmise. If smene set me free, I wuld make them rich and pwerful. But n ne ever came.

Yes, he wuld. He asked the genie,“Are yu really frm this bttle? Yur bdy is s huge, but this bttle is s small that it can hardly hld my hand. Hw culd yu stay in it ?” The genie wanted t prve that he culd cme ut f it and went back int the bttle by himself.

Finally, the fisherman threw the bttle back int the sea, saying, “Let yu stay there frever.”
Language pints
1.“ Prepare t die! ” shuted the genie (教材P63 2a)
die/dai/ v.死亡;消失[不及物動(dòng)詞] die是短暫性動(dòng)詞,不能與表示一段時(shí)間的狀語連用。如表示狀態(tài),與表示一段時(shí)間的狀語連用,要用be dead。
My grandfather died in 2020. 我的祖父2020年去世了。The plant is dead fr mre than ten days. 這植物已經(jīng)枯萎十多天了。

smene /'s?mwan/ prn.某人;有人anyne /'eniw?n / prn.任何人;某個(gè)人
Smene is ringing the drbell. Maybe it is Emma. 有人在按門鈴。可能是艾瑪。Nancy didn't knw anyne in the new schl. 南希在新學(xué)校中一個(gè)人都不認(rèn)識(shí)。
set /set/ v. 使處于某種狀況;使開始其過去式為set, 現(xiàn)在分詞為setting。

rich /r?t?/ adj. 富有的;富含……的(1)[形容詞]富有的 →反義詞: pr “貧窮的”the rich表示“富人”,其作主語時(shí),謂語動(dòng)詞用復(fù)數(shù)形式。

【拓】rich作形容詞的其他含義:

pwerful /?pa??fl/ adj. 強(qiáng)大的;有影響力的由“pwer (n.力量;權(quán)力)+形容詞后綴-ful”構(gòu)成。

【詞綴學(xué)習(xí)】-ful是常見的形容詞后綴,表示“充滿……的;有……性質(zhì)(或傾向)的”, 可加在某些名詞后構(gòu)成形容詞。
