I. Teaching Objectives
1. Language Objectives:
(1)Students will be able t master and use the fllwing vcabulary and
phrases: make ne's bed, hurry t, be late fr, use ne's phne, fcus n,
build schl spirit, hang ut.
(2)Students will be able t understand and crrectly use the sentence
structures: "There are t many rules...", "I have t...", "I mustn't...".
(3)Students will be able t read and cmprehend a letter abut rules,
extracting key infrmatin.
(4)Students will be able t use the language learned t discuss rules in
bth family and schl settings, as well as express their wn pinins
abut rules.
2. Affective Objectives:
(1)Guide students t view rules crrectly and recgnize their imprtance.
(2)Cultivate students' awareness and habit f cmplying with rules.
II. Teaching Prcedures
Step 1: Warm-up (5 minutes)
1. Greet the students and intrduce the lessn tpic: "Rules."
Ask the students: "What rules d yu have at schl?" t elicit their
respnses and activate their prir knwledge.
2. Lead-in:
(1)Shw a vide clip abut schl life and ask: "Can yu identify any
rules in the vide?"
(2)Display images f family and schl settings, and ask students t
name the rules depicted in each image in English.
Step 2: Presentatin (10 minutes)
1. Present the questin: "What are sme f the rules in yur hme?"
Pair the students and ask them t discuss and recrd their answers.
2. Intrduce Alice's letter and Dr. Knw's respnse, setting the cntext fr
reading.
3. Explain that they will read abut Alice's cmplaints abut rules and Dr.
Knw's advice.
Step 3: Reading (10 minutes)
First Reading:
Ask students t read Alice's letter and Dr. Knw's respnse quickly and
answer the questins: "Why is Alice unhappy?" and "Des Dr. Knw
think Alice is right?"
Secnd Reading:
Ask students t read the text carefully and cmplete the fill-in-the-blank
exercise in 1c.
Grup Discussin:
Organize students int grups t discuss: "What advice des Dr. Knw
give t Alice?"
Each grup selects a representative t reprt their findings.
Step 4: Language Fcus (10 minutes)
1. Explain and practice the key vcabulary and sentence patterns used in
the text, such as "make ne's bed," "hurry t," "be late fr," etc.
2. Prvide examples and ask students t create their wn sentences using
these patterns.
3. Use flashcards t review vcabulary and sentence structures.
4. Cnduct a rle-play activity where students simulate a cnversatin
between Alice and Dr. Knw.
Step 5: Speaking and Writing (10 minutes)
1. Ask students t reflect n their wn pinins abut rules in their family
and schl, and hw they can better cmply with them.
2. Encurage students t share their thughts with a partner first, then
with the class.
3. Organize students int grups t prepare a shrt presentatin n their
views n rules.
4. Each grup presents their findings t the class, using visual aids if
pssible.
Step 6: Hmewrk
Assign students t write a shrt paragraph r essay expressing their wn
pinins abut rules at hme and schl.
