Learn about San Francisco before reading;2. find out Li Lan’s travel experience in San Francisco through careful reading;3. infer writer’s opinion to Francisco and analyze her feelings in travelling different places;4. discuss the benefits and challenges of cultural diversity with their group mates;5. retell Li Lan’s travel journal with the help of mind map;6. use key words they have learnt in Li Lan’s travel journal to complete one exercise.教學(xué)主題該板塊的活動(dòng)主題是“了解一個(gè)具有多元文化特點(diǎn)的城市”（Learn about a city that has diverse cultures）。閱讀文本是一則旅行日記。在日記中，中國學(xué)生Li Lan記錄了自己的加州之行，并主要介紹了在舊金山一天的行程和所見所聞，從最初對(duì)舊金山的城市建筑產(chǎn)生興趣到逐漸體會(huì)到多元文化對(duì)這個(gè)城市方方面面的影響。教學(xué)重點(diǎn)1. 引導(dǎo)學(xué)生在讀前談?wù)剬?duì)舊金山的了解；2. 引導(dǎo)學(xué)生通過精讀，梳理中國學(xué)生Li Lan的加州之行；3. 引導(dǎo)學(xué)生推測(cè)作者對(duì)舊金山的觀點(diǎn)，分析作者游覽不同地方時(shí)的心情；4. 引導(dǎo)學(xué)生讀完文章后，結(jié)合思維導(dǎo)圖的提示復(fù)述Li Lan的游覽經(jīng)歷。教學(xué)難點(diǎn)1. 引導(dǎo)學(xué)生和組員談?wù)撐幕鄻有缘膬?yōu)勢(shì)和挑戰(zhàn)；2. 引導(dǎo)學(xué)生用所學(xué)關(guān)鍵詞完成練習(xí)。教學(xué)內(nèi)容與過程Lead-in通過問題，引入本節(jié)課的話題——了解一個(gè)具有多元文化特點(diǎn)的城市。? What do you know and want to know about San Francisco?向?qū)W生介紹文本背景，引導(dǎo)學(xué)生推測(cè)文章內(nèi)容。? A Chinese girl, Li Lan, has taken a trip there, and she wrote a travel journal. What do you think she might write about in her journal based on these pictures?Step 2 While-reading讓學(xué)生完成活動(dòng)2，尋讀文章，找出Li Lan去過或計(jì)劃去的地點(diǎn)。讓學(xué)生快速閱讀文章，把握文章的發(fā)展脈絡(luò)。引導(dǎo)學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)分類整理細(xì)節(jié)信息的閱讀策略，接著讓學(xué)生細(xì)讀文章，完成活動(dòng)3，梳理作者的旅行經(jīng)歷。讓學(xué)生完成活動(dòng)4，細(xì)讀文章，回答相關(guān)問題。? What impressed the writer first about San Francisco?? What is so special about the Mission District?? Why did Chinese immigrants go to San Francisco?? From Li Lan’s trip, what do you think is her expression of San Francisco? And find out some examples in the journal.? Did Li Lan enjoy her trip in San Francisco? Can you find some evidence to support your idea?Step 3 Post-reading引導(dǎo)學(xué)生結(jié)合思維導(dǎo)圖，復(fù)述Li Lan的游覽經(jīng)歷。讓學(xué)生完成活動(dòng)5，結(jié)合自身經(jīng)歷討論文化多樣性的話題。? Have you ever been to a place that has a diverse culture? What do you think brought about the cultural diversity??
