He will invite some friends to his party. Here are some invitations. Let’s see what will happen. Free talk. Why or why not? T lets Ss match the phrases with the pictures (a-e). Ask Ss to listen again and try to tell who can/can't come to Sun Ning's party then finish the chart. T asks Ss to listen and repeat. Go through 1c, T lets Ss read the model. Then asks Ss to practice with partner. T shows the pictures in Activity 2a and leads Ss to predict: Anna is going to have a party on Saturday, too. She invites her friends Jeff, Mary, May, Mei Ling and Paul to come. Can they come to party? T asks Ss to focus on the picture in Activity 2a and reminds Ss to identify the name of the person being invited in each conversation. T plays the recording and asks Ss to listen and complete the chart in Activity 2a. Then checks the answers. Go through 2b, T lets Ss listen again and encourages Ss to take notes. Then complete the chart. T shows the pictures in Activity 2d and leads Ss to predict: What is the conversation about? T asks Ss to read and answer the questions.
