It was a ht July day in Philadelphia. The five bys I was with had been sick f playing marbles and burning hles in dry leaves. Entering the burning huse was like “running int a bucket f black paint”. The thick smke caused Michael t stumble blindly arund, burned his eyes, and made it impssible t breathe. The cnditins wuld have been dangerus fr anyne, but fr Michael, wh has severe lung disease, they were life-threatening.
