The wife told her husband that unless he left the children to die in the forest, the    whole family would die.We thought you were never coming back.    It’s leading us to that wonderful house made of bread, cake and candy.    As soon as you wake up, you must go to the forest with your father.  2. 多閱讀中外傳統(tǒng)文學(xué)名著,讓學(xué)生們明白中國傳統(tǒng)文化的博大、精深,并吸取    中國傳統(tǒng)文化中的精華。了解外國的文化,開闊自己眼界。二、教學(xué)重難點1. 教學(xué)重點:1) 掌握本課時出現(xiàn)的生詞及用法。2) 閱讀短文,獲得相關(guān)信息,提高學(xué)生們的綜合閱讀能力。3) 讓學(xué)生了解戲劇的要素、語言特點、表現(xiàn)手法。2. 教學(xué)難點劇本的演繹和詞匯的恰當(dāng)使用。三、教學(xué)過程Step 1 ReviewStep 2 Warming up1. Show some fairy tales. Tell Ss a fairy tale is an old, traditional story.   Sleeping Beauty  睡美人Cinderella  灰姑娘Little Red Riding Hood  小紅帽2. Now discuss them with your partner.   3. Ask some Ss say what they know about these fairy stories.  Sleeping Beauty A lovely princess had to sleep for 1 hundred years because of an evil magic. One hundred years later, a young prince came and saved the princess. They got married and had a happy life.   Cinderella:Cinderella is about a young woman who is bullied (欺侮) by her stepmother and stepsisters. Using magic, her fairy godmother gives her a beautiful dress and a carriage to attend a ball at the palace, but she must return home by midnight before the magic ends. Cinderella meets a handsome prince but has to leave the ball in a hurry and she loses a glass slipper. The prince finds it and tells everyone he will marry the person to whom the slipper belongs. The stepsisters each try on the slipper but it does not fit them. Cinderella tries on the slipper and it fits. She marries the prince and they live happily ever after.Little Red Riding HoodIt is about a young girl who faces danger when she meets a big, bad wolf. While she is on her way to visit her grandmother, the wolf dresses up and pretends to be her grandmother waiting in her bed. The wolf hopes to catch and eat Little Red Riding Hood. She is saved by a woodcutter who kills the wolf.4. Do you know Hansel and Gretel? What do you know about it? Hansel and Gretel are poor children. Their mother died because of an accident when they were 3 years old. Nowadays, they lived with their father and stepmother.One day, a bad news happened to Gretel and Hansel. It’s a midnight, their stepmother advised their father to leave the children to die in forest. Otherwise the whole family could die.Let’s listen to the fairy tale to know what happened next? Step 3 Presentation 1. Present the new words on the big screen and learn the new words together from 2a to 2e.  2. Ss read and try to remember the new words.  stepmother  n. 繼母e.g. Luckily to her, her stepmother was kind to her.    幸運的是,她的繼母對她很好。wife  n. 妻子; 太太e.g. He phoned his wife to say he’d be late.    他打電話告訴他太太說要晚到。husband  n.   丈夫e.g. Mrs. Brown lost her husband in the crowd.    在人群中布朗太太和丈夫走散了。whole  adj. 全部的; 整體的辨析: whole強(qiáng)調(diào)整體上 the whole + n. all強(qiáng)調(diào)全部(數(shù)量上)all the + n. e.g. All the students succeeded in the exam.   所有的學(xué)生考試合格。 scene  n.   場;場景 e.g. The last scene has been cut off from the film.     最后一個場景已經(jīng)從電影中剪掉了。shine v. 發(fā)光; 照耀e.g. Thu sun was shining and the sky was blue. 陽光燦爛, 天空一片藍(lán)。 bright  adv. 明亮地; 光亮地e.g. The moon shines so bright tonight.   今晚的月亮如此明亮。拓展:bright adj. 明亮的; 光線充足的e.g. The sky is usually bright and blue.  天空通常明亮湛藍(lán)。ground    n.  地;地面e.g. Heavy snow has covered the ground.  大雪覆蓋了地面。lead  v. 帶路;領(lǐng)路   e.g. Would you please to lead us around your factory?   你能帶我們參觀一下你的工廠嗎?  brave    adj. 勇敢的   e.g. I think Liu Yang is a brave soldier.          我認(rèn)為劉陽是一位勇敢的士兵。voice  n.   聲音e.g. A man’s voice is usually lower than woman’s. 男子的聲音通常比女子的低。   My cousin has a beautiful voice.  我表妹有優(yōu)美的嗓音。辨析:voice 指嗓音      sound指自然界里的任何聲音e.g. I woke at the sound of the bell.    隨著鈴聲,我就醒了。Step 4 Talking 1. Show some fairy tales. Tell Ss a fairy tale is an old, traditional story. Do you know what these fairy stories are about? 2. Now discuss them with your partner.   3. Ask some Ss say what they know about the fairy stories.    e.g. Sleeping Beauty:      A lovely princess had to sleep for 100 hundred years because of an evil magic. One hundred years later, a young prince came and saved the princes. They got married and had a happy life.   Step 5 Reading   Ask Ss to read through the passage and decide what kind of text it is. Is it a letter, a play a short story or something else? Ss may find out that it’s a play. 戲劇一般根據(jù)場景的不同分為不同的幕;戲劇文本多以人物對白為主,偶爾會有旁白或舞臺指示語;有的戲劇文本會對故事背景有簡單的介紹。Work on 2c1. Read the play and try to match each description below with the correct scene.   A. The children get lost.B. The children wake up.C. The children cannot find the pieces of bread.D. Gretel learns about Hansel’s plan.E. The children surprise the parents.F. Hansel has to change his plan.G. The children learn that something bad is going to happen. SCENE ONE _____    SCENE TWO ____ SCENE THREE ____   SCENE FOUR ____ SCENE FIVE _____    SCENE SIX _____ SCENE SEVEN _____ 2. Ss read the play carefully and try to match each description. 3. Check the answers with the class.  Now let’s work on 2d. First read the questions below. Then try to read the play again and find the answers to the questions. 1) Why does the wife tell her husband to leave the children in the forest?2) What does Hansel go out to get?3) Why does he do it in the moonlight?4) How do Hansel and Gretel find their way home? 5) Why do Hansel and Gretel get lost the second time?2. Ss read the play again and try to find the answers to the questions. 3. Let some Ss read their answers and correct their mistakes.4. Ss check their answers with their partners. 5. Complete the chart.Ask Ss to act out the play Hansel and Gretel in groups of four.Step 6.  Language points 1. One year, the weather was so dry that no food would grow. 有一年,天氣太干旱了,以至于糧食顆粒不長。   so… that…是一個常見的句式結(jié)構(gòu),表示如此……以至于……”, 副詞so之后接形容詞或副詞,that引導(dǎo)一個完整的句子,有時that還可省略。例如本單元的這個句子:That bird’s song is so beautiful that we would follow it.2. We thought you were never coming back. 我以為你們再也回不來了。  We thought…表示人們過去的某種想法,判斷等,可以譯作我們原想……; 我們本以為……”。如:I thought he would come, but he didn’t.3. It’s leading us to that wonderful house made of bread, cake and sugar.   它在把我們引向那座由面包,蛋糕和糖果做成的美妙小屋。  此句中made of bread, cake and sugar作定語,修飾名詞house, 形容詞wonderful也是house的定語。在英語中,大部分形容詞作定語修飾名詞時應(yīng)前置,短語或句子作定語修飾名詞時則后置。如:the young people in the room 屋子里的年輕人4. The wife told her husband that unless he left the children to die in the forest, the whole family would die.    妻子告訴丈夫,如果他不把孩子們?nèi)拥缴掷镒屗麄冏陨詼?,整個家庭就會滅亡。unless的意思是如果不,若非,除非,它引導(dǎo)的是一個條件狀語從句,相當(dāng)于if…not。因此,上面的句子改寫為: …if he didn’t leave the children to die in the forest, the whole family would die.5. As soon as the moon rises, we can follow them instead.   月亮一升起來,我們就可以順著它們走了。 as soon as 表示 …………”,再如本單元的這個句子:As soon as you wake up, you must go to the forest with your father. 你們一醒來就必須和爸爸去森林里。Step 7.  Retell the story.Step 8.  Group work       Ask the students to show the storyStep 11 Homework 1. Read the play again after school.2. Try to act out the play in groups of four. One is Gretel, one is Hansel, one is Husband, one is Wife.
