Lng ag, Mexican wlves were cmmn all thrugh the Suthwestern US and Nrthern Mexic. But as mre human activities appeared in the areas, the wlves were hunted until they almst died ut. The Mexican wlf is the rarest kind f gray wlf in Nrth America. In the1970s, the US gvernment began a prgram f raising Mexican wlves and releasing (放出) them back int nature. The prgram hped t make the wlves spread back acrss the area they had nce lived in fr they are an imprtant part f the balance f nature in the area.
The result f the latest cunt f Mexican wlves was reprted by the US Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS). A ttal f 42 wlf packs were fund in the wild, and half f them had baby wlves last spring. Arund 90 baby wlves were brn in all, and 58% f them survived. The cunt reprted a ttal f 163 wlves, which is nearly 25% mre than last year. Over the last 10 years, the number f wlves has been increasing by abut 15% a year.
One change wildlife managers have made recently is placing little wlves int grups f wild wlves. The wlves that are returned t nature when they are yung seem t be far mre adaptable than wlves that g int the wild fr the first time as adults. Besides, new wlves frm utside the packs als imprve the verall lng-term health f the wlves as a grup.
Hwever, nt everyne is excited abut the news. Fr farmers, wh must prtect their cattle frm wlves, the increase is likely t mean mre lst animals n their farms. Last year, 184 farm animals were killed in all. That’s the largest number since 1998.

It was a snwy day during the spring break when I walked int a great restaurant. In this blizzard weather, it was the nly restaurant that remained pen.
The restaurant has a lng histry in Hng Kng. Its wners, the cuple, Peter and Michelle, have been running the restaurant since 2007.
