The surprising reasn yu can’t lse weight
Bb and Bill are rmmates and gd friends. They eat the same fd, have similar jbs and they recently started ding the same sprts tgether, t. The nly difference between them, it seems, is sleep schedules: While Bb gets a slid 7 t 8 hurs each night, Bill has an irregular sleep schedule and desn’t get enugh sleep.
Can yu guess why their shared exercise and nutritin methd is successful fr Bb and nt fr Bill?
The nly difference is sleep. While Bill and Bb are made up, the results f their circumstances are different. If yu want yur lifestyle changes t reflect in the way yu lk and feel, sleep is the key.
As The Washingtn Pst pinted ut this week, a grwing bdy f research pints t the fact that skimping(節(jié)?。?n sleep can lead t weight gain, an increase in injuries and a decrease in teststerne(雄性激素)which is ften assciated with depressin and bne density(密度)lss.
During deep sleep, the bdy’s muscles recver, repairing tissue trn during sprts, and the brain creates memries and clears ut txins(毒素). Withut these prcesses, yu’ re exercising and feeding a faulty machine.
“Many peple think yu build muscle in the gym, but yu actually build when yu sleep,” Chirjeev Sawhney, a persnal trainer and fitness manager at a Gld’s Gym in Arlingtn, tld the Pst. “It’s when yu repair that brken tissue that yu get strnger,” Sawhney said.
If the fact that sleep makes yur physical fitness mre achievable isn’t enugh, cnsider its many ther benefits: Quality sleep can make yu better at yur jb. It can extend yur lifetime. It’ll make yu mre likable. It’s time t get the sleep yu deserve. Yu have nthing t lse (except maybe a few punds).
