Features of the language are:using questions: Do you…?using adjectives: tough, stylish, easy to use, accurate.using simple and direct language: large app icons.Advertising uses special techniques to make people want to buy the product.Techniques include:Hyperbole (夸張法)---exaggeration(夸張), often by use of adjectives and adverbs.Frequent use of adjectives and adverbs, use of description.Neologisms (新創(chuàng)造的詞)---similar to compound words, these are made up words, e.g. smartwatch.Short sentences for impact on the reader, bold or large type for the “headline” or “slogan” to capture the attention of the reader.Avoid stating any negative aspect, e.g. an advertisement won’t say that you must exercise because you are fat, the advertisement will rather focus on getting healthy.Simple and slang language so that the audience understand the features and functions of the product and suggests a friendly attitude.Present tense is used most commonly.Repetition of the brand name and the slogan (口號，標語), so that they are memorable.Humour shows the product positively.Glamorisation (美化), e.g. instead of used cars, which suggests they are old; the advertisement will say “pre-loved cars”.
