“Where are yu ging t cllege?”“I'm ging t my lcal cmmunity cllege.”My answer seemed t be the magic phrase that wuld wipe the smile right ff many peple's faces.It's clear that peple have a lt f miscnceptins(誤解) abut cmmunity clleges.
Many peple think cmmunity clleges are nly fr peple wh culdn't get int a fur-year schl.But it is nt true.In high schl,I always gt A's.But when it came t applying t clleges,I had n idea what I wanted t majr in and culdn't justify spending thusands f dllars at a 4-year schl until I knew what I wanted t d.My parents were very supprtive f my decisin t attend the cmmunity cllege.
Sme peple will ask,“Since the cmmunity cllege is cheaper,will yu get a gd educatin?”I fund that nearly all f my prfessrs taught the same curses at 4-year clleges.My prfessrs were knwledgeable and experienced,and I fund many f the curses challenging.
Sme peple think if I attend the cmmunity cllege,I will miss ut n the “cllege experience”.I must admit that this is smething I wrried abut a great deal the summer befre cllege.But I sn learned that the cmmunity cllege,just like any ther cllege,is what yu make f it.I strived t make the mst f my time at the cmmunity cllege.I als made tns f friends by jining clubs and attending student gvernment meetings.
I tk a lt f different curses.I had an amazing prfessr wh suggested I take her jurnalism class.Never having written fr my high schl newspapers,I didn't dare t take it,but since she was s enthusiastic,I eventually decided t have a try.That ne curse was all it tk fr me t realize that I wanted t becme a jurnalist.
I lk frward t graduating this May t pursue a career in bradcast jurnalism.Cmmunity clleges may nt be fr everyne,but fr me it is a life-changing experience that has helped me discver wh I am and the persn I hpe t becme.
