S... that...中的s是副詞，常用來修飾形容詞或副詞，“如此……以致于……”。
主語 + 謂語 + s + adj. / adv. + that從句。

S + adj. + a(n) + 單數(shù)名詞 + that從句。
E.g. it was s fine a day yesterday that we all went ut fr a picnic.
昨天天氣很好，我們都出去野餐了。
區(qū)別：
1) s that引導(dǎo)目的狀語從句時(shí)，表示“以便；為了”，從句中常使用can /culd /may /might /will /wuld /shuld等情態(tài)動(dòng)詞或助動(dòng)詞；引導(dǎo)結(jié)果狀語從句時(shí)，從句中一般不用can和may等詞。
2) s that引導(dǎo)目的狀語從句前不用逗號(hào)，s that引導(dǎo)的結(jié)果狀語從句與主句之間常有逗號(hào)相隔開，“因此; 所以”。
E.g. He wrked hard at his lessns s that he culd gain high grades in the exams.
他努力學(xué)習(xí)，爭(zhēng)取考試能獲得好成績(jī)。
He wrked hard at his lessns, s that he gained high grades in the exams.
