It wasn’t until the tw jined a class n the applicatin f bitechnlgy t the manufacturing f clthing that they realized there culd be a mre envirnmentally friendly ptin fr the fashin industry. Lee and Gmez learned that they culd use specially engineered prteins t create a fiber that avids plastics and degrades (分解) naturally, and then the idea fr Werewl was brn. “By changing hw we are creating the fibers that make up ur clthing, we can change the entire life cycle f ur clthing and their end-f-life impacts n the envirnment, aviding pllutin frm plastics,” Lee explains.
The early-stage bitech cmpany fcusing n develping bidegradable fibers fr the textile industry initially started as a research prject that invlved many sleepless nights in the lab. July was the httest mnth n recrd glbally. High temperatures and serius wildfires have swept acrss the Nrthern Hemisphere. Oceanic heat waves are damaging the wrld’s third-largest cral reef ff Flrida. And as the levels f greenhuse gases cntinue t increase, it means many even htter summers lie ahead.
Last week, the United Natins Secretary-General Antni Guterres cined a new term. The time f “glbal warming” has ended, he annunced, and the time f “glbal biling” has arrived.

C.It is lacking in enugh attentin.D.It is t weak t describe the prblem.
34.What can we infer frm paragraph 4?
A.Climate crises are wrsening.B.Several crises will be slved.
C.Peple will face fd shrtages.D.Peple are taking effective measures.
35.What is Guterres’s hpe in using deeply impactful phrases?
A.T scare peple int taking immediate actin.
B.T entertain readers with Hllywd-style stries.

Terrified, I sat clse t my mm, knees in my chest. After the strm had passed, ur wrries and fears were replaced by relief that we were unharmed and that ur huse had remained undamaged.
As I stepped utside, I witnessed the extent f the damage the trnad had caused t ur neighbrhd. Acrss the street, a tall tree had fallen, crushing Luella’s garden in frnt f her yellw huse.
