Ask the students to retell the letters in 3a.   2. Recite the sentences in Grammar Focus.   Step 2 Warming up & Leading in   1. Show the students a picture and ask them a question. Order them(1-8)with 1 being the most favorite thing you do to lower stress. Then discuss with your deskmate.   4. Let some students say their answers like this in 1b:   Step 5 Listening   1. Read the sentences in 1c.(Explain some main phrases.)   2. Just listen for the first time. Then listen again and check the problems Wei Ming talks about.   3. Check the answers.   Answers:My parents give me a lot of pressure about school. I don’t have enough free time. I have to compete with my classmates at school.   4. Read the sentences in 1d first. Complete the short passage according to 1c & 1d.   Wei Ming asks Alice for help. His parents give him too much pressure about school because they want him to get good grades. So Wei Ming doesn’t have enough free time. Alice tells him that he should talk to his parents. She says life shouldn’t just be about grades. Free time activities like sports and hanging out with friends are important,too. Wei Ming has to compete with his classmates. Alice thinks he shouldn’t do that. They should all be helping each other to improve.   Step 6 Pair work   1. Work in pairs. Suppose your partner is Wei Ming. You try to tell your partner some advice and say why.   2. Let two students make a model for the other students.   3. Practice the conversations in pairs.  ?。═he teacher can walk around the classroom,and give some help to the students. )   Step 7 Survey   T:Make a survey about your problems and the activities to help you to lower your pressure in groups. Step 8 Cooperative inquiry   Discuss the following language points in groups and fill in the blanks.   1. member 名詞,意為“成員;分子”。a member of the family家庭中的一員。   珍妮是我們小組里最活躍的成員。   Jenny is the most active member in our group.   2. compete 不及物動詞,意為“競爭,對抗”。常用短語compete with sb. ,意為“與某人競爭”。其名詞形式為competition。   我們沒有料到會與經(jīng)驗如此豐富的隊競爭。我們正為即將到來的競賽作準備。   We didn’t expect to compete with such an experienced team. We are ready for the coming competition (compete).   3. pressure 名詞,意為“壓力”,是不可數(shù)名詞。   不要給她太多的壓力。   Don’t give her too much pressure.   4. unhappy為happy 的反義詞,意為“不高興的,不快樂的”。   5. each other意為“互相”,是相互代詞。   互相幫助help each other 互相學習learn from each other   他們總是相互競爭。   They are always competing with each other.
