This story is about an emperor who loved clothes. Discussion big hat, no cattle是源自美國(guó)得克薩斯州的俚語(yǔ),字面意思是大大的帽子,卻沒(méi)有牛,實(shí)際上是譏諷那些打腫臉充胖子、死要面子活受罪的人。 美國(guó)得州被稱為“牛仔之鄉(xiāng)”,當(dāng)?shù)厝撕芡瞥缥鞑颗W形幕?。于是就有人明明沒(méi)有農(nóng)場(chǎng),也不是什么牛仔,還故意一身牛仔打扮,裝模作樣地戴著大大的牛仔帽(cowboy hat) 后來(lái)有作曲家把這種情形編成了歌,歌名就是《big hat no cattle》。隨著這首歌廣為傳唱,big hat,no cattle作為俚語(yǔ)也在全美流行開(kāi)來(lái)。 What can you learn from this story? They said people couldn’t see the clothes unless they were clever. 3.In fact, the two brothers were really trying to cheat the emperor. They asked for much gold and silk and kept them for themselves. 4.When the emperor looked at himself, he only saw his underwear. But he didn’t want people to think he was stupid. So he said his new clothes were really beautiful. 5.When the emperor walked through the street wearing his new clothes, everybody said his new clothes were wonderful. 6.Suddenly, a young boy shouted, “Look! The emperor isn’t wearing anything.” Step 5. (3)once upon a time從前,很久以前 是英文故事、童話開(kāi)頭常見(jiàn)的一種敘述方式。類似說(shuō)法有 long, long ago 或a long time ago.
