Although there are good stairs ahead, you still feel a little shy and scared , and dare not go ahead. But when you conquer fear and reach the peak, you will feel the importance of courage as you enjoy the beautiful scenes. It is the same with life. Step 4 Ask students to learn languages points in the reading passage. 1.Learn the new words and expressions : 課標詞匯: achievement/ southwestern/thick/include/freezing/condition/succeed/challenge /achieve/force/nature even though the Himalayas run along freezing weather take in air the first people to do sth. in the face of difficulties achieve one’ s dream the forces of nature 2. 1.One of the world’s most dangerous sports is mountain climbing, … Miss Wang is one of the most popular teachers in our school. 2. It is also very hard to take in air as you get near the top. It is + adj. 常用于此句型的形容詞有important, difficult, dangerous, necessary, useful, possible等 用來對to do sth. To do sth. is + adj.。 It is important to study English well. It’s very difficult to climb Qomolangma. 3. Even more serious difficulties include freezing weather conditions and heavy storms. difficulty He’s having financial difficulties. She had great difficulty in understanding him. 4. The spirit of these climbers shows us that we should never give up trying to achieve our dreams. give up My uncle wants to give up drinking wine. Although English isn’t easy to learn, I won’t give it up. 5. Why do so many people try to climb this mountain even though it is dangerous? even though 用作從屬連詞,意為“即使;盡管”,相當于even if,引導讓步狀語從句,一般不與并列連詞but連用。 Mr. Wang will come on time even though it rains. 6.The first people to reach the top were Tenzing Norgay and Edmund Hillary on May 29,1953.The first Chinese team did so in 1960,while the first woman to succeed was Junko Tabei from Japan in 1975. The first people ,the first woman。 He likes music while she likes dancing. 被修飾名詞前有形容詞最高級,有the only、the next、the last,或者有the first、second等序數(shù)詞時,常使用 不定式to do作后置定語。 He is the best man to do this job. She was the next person to rise to speak. Betty is always the first to come to school. Step 5 Homework 1.Recite the important vocabulary and sentences. 2.Retell the text with key words.
