Arn Lee Ralstn was brn in a middle class American husehld. His family mved t Clrad when Arn was 12 years ld and this mve laid the fundatin fr his lve fr hiking arund the canyns (峽谷).
Arn’s life changed n April 26th, 2003, upn facing the event that threatened t take his life, and almst tk it. He was hiking thrugh the Blue Jhn Canyn and he accidentally displaced a huge rck he was climbing dwn frm. The rck caught his right hand in between itself and the canyn wall.
Arn had decided t g n the adventure alne and hadn’t infrmed anybdy abut it. S, when he was unable t free his right hand, he felt he wuld be stuck frever in there. He tried hard t get his hand ut but failed, and screaming fr help was f n use either. Mrever, he didn’t want t wear himself ut as shuting fr help wuld take a lt f energy, which was essential (重要) fr surviving the unfrtunate event fr a lng perid f time.
After a cuple f days, he knew it was impssible fr him t set himself free frm an 800-pund rck. He decided t cut ff his right hand. He had a blunt (鈍的) pcket knife with him, which wasn’t sharp enugh t cut thrugh the bne. Sme time passed and his water and fd supply ended. He carved his name, date f birth and a pssible date f death n the stne.
But luckily he gt a strange idea that he culd use the trque (扭轉(zhuǎn)力) and his bnes t separate his arm frm his bdy. With the help f his very limited tl, he finally succeeded and walked ut f the canyn, bleeding in large amunts. Frtunately, a hlidaying family saw him and gave him fd and water, and then tk him t a hspital.
After the accident, Arn gt a prsthetic limb (假肢) and cntinued muntain climbing, cnsidering the accident as a “turning pint in his life”.

At the beginning f the schl year, I had a lt f truble leaving my mm in the mrnings, but Mrs. Trainer always sat with me, talked with me, and helped me feel OK withut my mm. She was understanding, kind, and always made the classrm a cmfrtable place. Mrs. Trainer als sat dwn and helped me learn; I was, and still am, the wrst speller, but she tried her hardest t help me.
The secnd was my senir high schl English teacher, Mr. Stnerck. Mr. Stnerck was able t make English and writing fun, especially when we had eight-page papers t hand in. Sme f my favrite high schl memries (記憶)were in his classes. Mr. Stnerck als taught my class APA frmat (格式)which t me is invaluable. I use it every day in my life. He put up with s many shenanigans (惡作劇)frm my classmates and me and always did it with as mile.
My pint t all f this is that there are amazing and caring teachers ut there whether they teach cllege level classes, high schl level classes, r primary level classes. I have had mre influential teachers than I can cunt. I am still in tuch with sme f my high schl teachers, wh give me life advice and guide me. Teachers are invaluable resurces (資源)and n ne can take their place.
