Terri Kurtzberg, c-authr f the study, explained that they assumed lking at cellphnes during a break wuld be n different frm any ther break—but instead, the phne may cause increasing levels f distractin that make it difficult t return fcused attentin t wrk tasks.
“Cellphnes may have this effect because even just seeing yur phne activates thughts f checking messages, cnnecting with peple, and mre, in ways that are different than hw we use ther screens like cmputers, and laptps," Kurtzberg said.

Jseph O’Neal, an fficer f the Hnlulu Plice Department, said the rbt has prtected fficers, shelter staff and residents by scanning bdy temperatures between mealtimes at a shelter where hmeless peple culd quarantine (隔離) and get tested fr COVID-19.
