Once inside the rm, Simn std n a chair. He lifted the big bx wherein his grandfather had kept many valuable watches bught frm different cuntries he had visited. While getting dwn frm the chair, Simn’s elbw(肘部) struck against the chair. When he tried his best t pull his arm ut, the bx slipped ut f his hands and fell nt the flr. All the watches lay all arund. T his shck, he fund the glass f his grandfather’s favrite watch brken. Simn was afraid that his grandfather wuld cme t knw abut the brken glass. He started picking up the pieces f glass hurriedly. Simn thught, “My grandmther gifted the watch t my grandfather. This must be ne f his mst treasured pssessins. Hw culd I tell him that his favrite watch had brken? He must be angry with me. If I d nt tell him, he will nt cme t knw abut it.” Simn gt nervus. His heart started beating faster. He put the brken watch back int the bx and placed the bx back n the shelf. Afterwards, he went t sleep. Hwever, he culd nt sleep in peace thrughut the whle night. The brken watch even shwed up in his dream.
The next mrning, Simn gt up much earlier than befre. The sleepless night made him realize that hlding back the truth itself was mre uncmfrtable than breaking the watch. “But that watch is Grandpa’s favrite and he tld me t be careful f the bx befre.” Simn said t himself and didn’t dare t face his grandfather.
