Our bodies need a healthy diet which should include all the things you need to develop normally—proteins, carbohydrates, fats, minerals and vitamins.Cutting out things you might see as fattening, such as carbohydrates or fats, can stop your body from developing normally.
There are some simple rules which can help you to stay a healthy and normal weight. They sound quite easy but might be more difficult to put into practice. You can ask your family and friends to help you to stick to these rules—and it might even help them to be a bit healthier!
·Eat regular meals—breakfast,lunch and dinner.
·Include carbohydrate foods such as bread, potatoes, rice or pasta with every meal.
·Eat at roughly the same time each day.Long gaps between meals can make you so hungry that, when you do eventually eat,you eat far more than you need.
·Get enough sleep.
·Avoid sugary or high fat foods and junk foods. If you have a lunch of crisps, chocolate and a soft drink,it doesn’t feel as if you’re eating very much, but it will pile on the pounds.A sandwich or roll with fruit and milk or juice will make you feel fuller, but you are much less likely to put on weight—and it’s better for your skin.
If you follow these suggestions you will find it easier to control your weight, and you won’t find yourself wanting sweet foods all the time.

I had the meanest mother in the world. While other kids ate candy for breakfast,I had to have cereal eggs and toast.Others had Cokes and candy for lunch, while I had to eat a sandwich. As you can guess,my supper was different from the other kids. But at least I was not alone in my suffering. My sister and two brothers had the same mean mother as I did.
My mother insisted on knowing where we were at all times. She had to know who our friends were and what we were doing. We had to wear clean clothes every day.Other kids always wore their clothes for days.We felt embarrassed because she made our clothes herself, just to save money.
The worst is yet to come.We had to be in bed by 9:00 each night and up at 7:45 the next morning. So while my friends slept,my mother actually had the courage to break the Child Labour Law.She made us work.I believed she lay awake all night thinking up mean things to do to us.
Through the years, our friends’ report cards had beautiful colors on them, black for passing, red for failing. My mother, however, would merely be content with the black marks.None of us was allowed the pleasure of being a dropout.
She forced us to grow up into educated and honest adults.Using this as a background,I’m now trying to bring up my three children.I’m filled with pride when my children think I’m mean because now I thank the meanest mother in the world every day.

Devon Gallagher,a college graduate from Philadelphia, wants the world to know exactly where she’s been during her worldwide vacation in a special way.
The traveler, who was born with a bone disease, had her right leg amputated(截肢) at the age of four.Although the amputation caused misfortune for Gallagher early on,she now sees it as an inspiration for living her best life.
To spread the message,Gallagher has taken to social media, where she shares photos of her travels across the globe.Besides, she writes her location across her artificial leg before taking a picture.
Now she has been taking pictures across the Continent, which show her cycling over the canals in Amsterdam, relaxing on a wall overlooking the city of Barcelona, posing with a waffle(華夫餅) in Brussels, taking spectacular pictures in Athens and enjoying a river cruise in Budapest, with all the well-known locations written on her artificial leg.
“I get a new leg every two years and I can choose the design on it.One day I had a sudden thought of getting a chalkboard,” Gallagher said.“My mum and grandmother weren’t too interested in the idea, but my friends thought it was great and told me to go for it,so I did.”
Gallagher said people often stare when she’s writing on her leg,but once she shares the photos, she receives only positive feedback.“My leg hasn’t stopped me from doing anything I’ve wanted to do,” she said.“I know it’s because of my determination to prove to myself that I can do it.Therefore,I’ve been able to keep up with my peers and lead a pretty great life.”

Scout kept that special silk scarf for many years. One day she decided to give it to her granddaughter,Eliza,to wear to her first job interview for good luck.Scout was afraid that Eliza would lose the scarf, but the granddaughter promised,“Don’t worry,Grandma, nothing’s going to happen to your scarf. You’ll see that it’s going to bring both of us luck.” And with that,Eliza kissed her grandmother and left for the interview.
Leaving the interview,Eliza felt confident that she had got the job so she decided to celebrate by going to a restaurant.Sitting at her table,Eliza felt an elderly woman staring at her for a long time.

Theoldwomanagreed.Soon they left the restaurant after dinner.Arriving at Scout’s home, the old woman eagerly rang the door bell. The moment Scout opened the door, she was amazed to see her childhood friend standing in front of her.How magical! The scarf indeed brought them good luck.Excited and moved, both of them were in tears. They hadn’t seen each other for many years and had many things to share.
