Step 1: Lead in
Greet the class, watch a vide and answer the fllwing questins:
“What des the vide talk abut?”
“Wh is yur favurite teacher?”
“Des he/she d smething imprtant fr yu? If yes, what is it? ”

Step 2: Let’s predict
Shw the picture t students and guess the fllwing questins.
“Where is he?”
“Where des he cme frm? Big cities r small village?”
“What difficulties may he have?”
Step 3: Fast reading
Read the passage and write true(T) r false(F).
1.Ha Tngxin is a student frm a village.
2.Ha Tngxin wanted t give up his studies last year.
3.The teacher encuraged Ha Tngxin t make a difference thrugh educatin.
4.Ha Tngxin didn't take the teacher's advice in the end.
(Purpse: Thrugh fast reading, students' ability t quickly grasp the infrmatin in the text is trained.)
Step 4: Careful reading
Read Paragraph 2-3 and answer the fllwing questins.

(Purpse: By clsely reading the key paragraphs f the article, it helps students enhance their understanding f the text and lays a fundatin fr the later emtinal sublimatin f the article.)
Step 5: Pst reading
Activity 1
Read the passage again and cmplete the stry muntain.

(Purpse: Retelling the text aims t imprve students' verall summarizatin ability, laying a linguistic fundatin fr their cmprehensive understanding f the text later.)
Activity 2
After stry muntain, evaluate Ha Tngxin’s teacher. Then intrduce a teacher arund us. Think abut what the teacher d t have a great influence n students.

(Purpse:By re-reading the text and cmpleting a stry muntain, develp students' ability t summarize and critical thinking.)
Activity 3
After learning abut Ha Tngxin’s teacher and Miss Zhang, wh made a difference in yur life. Discuss with yur partner.
Activity 4 Exercise
Pay attentin t the phrases in the passage and finish the exercise.

Read the passage again and pay attentin t the parts in yellw.Explain the definitin f the simple past tense t students in the frm f an animatin.

Basic Assignments
Find the newly - taught phrases in the text and rganize them in yur ntebk.
Organize the sentences related t the teacher helping Ha Tngxin and describing the teacher in yur ntebk.
Practical Assignments
Imitate the structure and cntent f the article, and write a shrt passage abut hw yu changed after being encuraged by smene. The passage shuld be abut 50 - 60 wrds. Yu need t use the key wrds in the article and at least ne f the sentence patterns yu've just practiced.
Extended Assignments
Interview yur classmates r friends arund yu. Ask them if they have ever wanted t give up in their study r life, what they thught at that time, and what made them persevere later. Organize the interview results int a simple reprt in English. The reprt shuld include the situatins f at least 2 interviewees.

教學反思
The lessn n "Making a Difference" resnated well with students, as it fcused n the impact f teachers and educatin, a tpic they culd relate t. Students were engaged in discussing their favrite teachers and hw they have influenced their lives. Hwever, sme students struggled t articulate specific ways their teachers have helped them, indicating a need fr mre guided prmpts r examples t help them express their thughts.
The reading passage abut Ha Tngxin and his teacher was effective in teaching the imprtance f perseverance and educatin. Students were able t identify true and false statements accurately, shwing gd cmprehensin. Hwever, a few students had difficulty understanding the deeper message abut making a difference. T address this, I will incrprate mre discussin questins that encurage critical thinking and persnal reflectin.
The lessn successfully intrduced the distinctin between the simple present and simple past tenses. Students practiced rewriting sentences by changing the tense, which helped reinfrce their understanding. Hwever, sme students still cnfused the tw tenses, particularly when dealing with irregular verbs. In future lessns, I will include mre exercises and visual aids t clarify these grammar pints.
