When my Mnday came, I tk a bus t the TV statin with my Dad. I checked in at the desk. The hst f Talent Spruts, and the musical directr welcmed the participants and described the rutine fr us. Everything was fresh there. The crew in the auditrium pushed big cameras n wheels and adjusted lights. I waited n the seat and sn I was called.

Disappinted, I returned t my seat, where my dad was waiting fr me. Surely the result was as expected — I wasn’t the winner. On my way hme, I surprised myself by feeling mre relieved than disappinted. I culd nt pretend that my perfrmance was the best. In truth, the ther three were far superir. When I talked abut The Big Skip, Dad smiled, “It may nt have been nticed by smene wh desn’t knw Schubert’s ‘Ave Maria.’ Yur mvement was smth. Yu didn’t fall apart. All in all, a wrthwhile experience.”
