Cuntries are failing t take actin needed t avid the wrst effects f climate change, a UN reprt has fund and the cmmitments made in the 2015 Paris Agreement will nt be met unless gvernments intrduce additinal measures as a matter f urgency Greenhuse gas emissins cntinued their lng-term rise last year, accrding t the un, but they culd be brught under cntrl. There are prmising signs such as investment frm the private sectr in renewable energy and ther technlgies t cut carbn, but these are currently insufficient t meet scientific advice.
Gunnar Luderer, ne f the authrs f the UN reprt and senir scientist at the Ptsdam Institute fr Climate Impact Research in Germany said: “There is still a tremendus gap between wrds and deeds, between the targets agreed by gvernments and the measures t achieve these gals. Only a rapid turnrund here can help. Emissins must be reduced by a quarter by 2030 and fr 1.5℃, emissins wuld have t be halved.”

【譯文】聯(lián)合國表示，全世界必須加倍努力，否則將面臨災(zāi)難性的氣候變化聯(lián)合國的一份報告發(fā)現(xiàn)，各國未能采取必要行動以避免氣候變化帶來的最壞影響。除非各國政府緊急出臺額外的措施，否則將無法履行在2015年《巴黎協(xié)定》中做出的承諾。據(jù)聯(lián)合國稱，去年溫室氣體排放量繼續(xù)保持長期增長的態(tài)勢，但排放量是可以得到控制的。雖然出現(xiàn)了一些讓人們看到希望的跡象，例如私營企業(yè)對可再生能源和其他減少碳排放的技術(shù)進行投資，但是目前這些措施還沒有達到科學(xué)的減排建議所要求的標準。

對化石燃料征收新稅、投資清潔技術(shù)以及采取更強有力的政府政策以減少排放量，這些可能都是必要的。聯(lián)合國表示，各國政府還必須停止直接地或間接地補貼化石燃料。總而言之，要將全球升溫控制在2攝氏度以內(nèi)，可能需要加倍努力，才能達到科學(xué)的減排建議所要求的標準，從而避免氣候變化帶來的最危險的影響。聯(lián)合國環(huán)境規(guī)劃署執(zhí)行主任喬伊絲·姆蘇亞表示：“科學(xué)是無可置疑的；對于我們所見的所有雄心勃勃的氣候行動，政府仍需要更快、更緊迫地行動起來。我們正在助長（全球變暖）這場大火，然而撲滅這場大火的方法觸手可及。
