At a lng table in Galamei wrkshp, a yung wman is busy with Tantu-style New Year pictures, a flk craft(手藝) that has been carried frward by her family fr fur generatins. She is Zhng Xinglin, a flk artist in Tantu twn, Lnghui cunty, Central China’s Hunan prvince.
Tantu-style New Year pictures feature auspicius(吉祥的) figures and elements frm flklre that carry peple’s prayers fr gd luck in a new year. As an intangible cultural heritage, the art style can be traced t the late Ming Dynasty (1368- 1644).
