“A millin dllars fr this?” he thught. “I dn’t understand it.”

Harry rented a rm in Mrs. Allen’s huse. He went quietly up t his rm and clsed the dr. In his rm, Harry tk the painting frm his bag. He wrapped it with a newspaper and put the newspaper under his bed.
In the mrning, Janey Allen was putting ld bttles int a bx. On the TV, a reprter was at the Rivesville art gallery. He was talking abut the lst painting and the brken glass vase. Janey glanced at the pht f the blue vase.
At that time Harry wasn’t in his rm. He was talking n his telephne. Janey was lking fr ld newspapers. Every Friday mrning, she tk them frm every rm in the huse. Then later, the newspaper recycling truck arrived.
Janey pened Harry’s dr and lked int his rm. She always tk his ld newspapers r bttles fr recycling. She fund a newspaper under Harry’s bed. She put the ld newspapers int a black recycling bx. Then she ran frm the huse and saw the truck. “Wait!” she said. And she quickly gave the bx t ne f the men.
Harry came back t the huse. He saw the recycling truck, and he was Janey.

Ally lked at her father's picture n the bkcase. Dad was sitting in the middle f a stream, wet thrugh but grinning prudly. "I miss yu, Dad," she said sftly .By this time last year she had already taken dzens f pictures. Ever since she culd remember, she and Dad had been a team, searching the wds behind the huse each weekend fr a glimpse f the special wd warbler(林中鶯).
Ally reached fr the first pht album she and Dad had put tgether. On the cver a tiny range bird with blue gray wings and sharp black eyes peered ut f the pht her father had clipped frm a lcal newspaper. Ally smiled, remembering the excited lk n his face when he first shwed her the pretty bird. "Ally, I bet if we search real hard, we'll see this little guy tgether sme day."
They'd never sptted the warbler, but her father had an amazing way f making each uting seem special. Staying with Dad, Ally felt cmfrtable, "If nly I culd get that gd feeling back," she thught, sighing.
Staring at the bird, suddenly, she knew exactly what she had t d. Grabbing the little flag, she placed her camera arund her neck and hurried utside. Ally stuck the flag amng the flwers in the garden. "Please let me see the warbler," she murmured t herself. She gave her wrried Mm a kiss and then set ff int the wds.
