It is quite clear t me, based n my research, that trpical(熱帶的) insects rather than plar bears culd be amng the first species t becme extinct(滅絕的) as a result f glbal warming.
Insects in the trpics are already living at the limit f their temperature range and any further increase culd quickly kill them ff. This wuld be a majr disaster fr trpical habitats, which rely n insects fr everything frm pllinatin(授粉) t waste dispsal(處理). We have fund that a rise in average temperatures in the trpics f just 1℃ r 2℃ culd be enugh t bring abut a significant and harmful effect n the survival f a wide variety f imprtant insects. Fitness levels mst likely decline quickly and there may nt be much we can d abut it.
Many trpical species can nly accept a narrw range f temperatures because the climate they experience is pretty steady thrughut the year. Nw ur study shws that they will be harmed by rising temperatures mre than species in cld climates. Unfrtunately, the trpics als hld the large majrity f species n the planet.
We used daily and mnthly glbal temperatures frm the 50-year perid between 1950 and 2000and cmpared them with data shwing the "fitness levels" f different species. "Fitness" was determined by indicatrs such as ppulatin grwth rates and physical perfrmance fr different creatures.
We fund that even mving int the shade did nt help the insects. The direct effects f climate change n the rganisms(生物) we studied appear t depend a lt mre n the rganisms' flexibility than n the amunt f warming in the area where they lived.
As well as the danger t insects, the research cnfirms that there will be ther cnsequences f glbal warming that culd als have a serius impact n trpical regins, particularly n fd crps. Our research fcused nly n the impact f changes in temperature, but warming will als change rainfall patterns. These changes culd be mre imprtant fr many trpical rganisms, such as plants, but they are harder t predict.

根據(jù)第二段中的“Insects in the trpics are... t waste dispsal.(熱帶地區(qū)的昆蟲已經(jīng)生活在其溫度范圍的極限,任何進一步的溫度升高都可能快速殺死它們。
根據(jù)第二段中“We have fund that a the survival f a wide variety f imprtant insects.”和第三段中“Many trpical species can nly accept a narrw range f temperatures”可知,許多熱帶物種只能接受有限的溫度范圍,溫度僅上升1℃或2℃就可能帶來巨大災難,說明熱帶物種幾乎經(jīng)不起溫度的變化,故選B。
根據(jù)最后一段中“As well as the danger t insects, the research a serius impact n trpical regins, particularly n fd crps.(這項研究證實,除了對昆蟲的威脅外,全球變暖還會帶來其他后果,也可能對熱帶地區(qū),尤其是糧食作物產(chǎn)生嚴重影響。)”
根據(jù)第一段中“based n my research”,第二段中“We have fund that”,第三段中的“Nw ur study shws that”和最后一段中“the research cnfirms that”可推斷出,本文的寫作目的是在展示研究結果,故選D項。
Have yu ever been excited abut lsing a few punds?
③根據(jù)后文Dn't burden yurself with unrealistic expectatins.
T maintain yur weight, yu must balance yur intake f calries with the energy yu burn.
和設空處前一句Weighing daily wn't shw yu the big picture.
