Turn off the TV!    關(guān)掉電視。   turn off 意為關(guān)掉; 關(guān)閉(設(shè)備)”, 主要指關(guān)燈、電視、電腦、自來水、煤氣等。    turn off 與名詞和代詞連用: 與名詞連用時, 名詞可放在turn off 之后, 也可放在turn off 之間; 與代詞連用時, 代詞只能放在turnoff 之間。如:Jenny turned the computer off / turned off the computer.The TV is too noisy. Can you turn it off?【鏈接】與turn off 相關(guān)的短語有turn on(打開), turn up(……調(diào)高), turn down(……調(diào)低)。如:Can you help me turn on the TV?Please turn down your radio.4. I became so bored with their orders that I wished they would leave me alone.   order 可以作名詞表示命令;指示,此時是可數(shù)名詞。如:   They received orders to start at once.   We should obey the orders of the teacher.   order 還常用作動詞, 表示命令; 訂購; (酒菜等)”。如:The police ordered them to wait right there.I have ordered two copies of that book.He ordered a cup of coffee5. Although my parents were very worried about leaving me, they had to go away on business for a few days.  be worried about 相當(dāng)于worry about,意為……發(fā)愁; ……擔(dān)心   e.g. June is worried about her English test.    on business 意為 出差e.g. Jack will go to Shanghai on business.6. The next morning I woke up late.   wake up 意為叫醒……”。   當(dāng)wake up的賓語是名詞時, 賓語可放在wakeup的中間或up的后面; 當(dāng)wake up的賓語是代詞時, 賓語只能放在wakeup的中間。   e.g. Don’t wake up the baby.        = Don’t wake the baby up.       Let’s wake him up now.7. The teacher asked me for my  homework,  but I could not hand it in.    hand in 意為提交; 上交。    e.g. Please hand in your paper before Friday. 8. I was unable to play basketball with my classmates!   be unable to do sth. 不能做某事    be able to do sth. 能夠做某事   e.g. He was unable to finish homework on time.       他不能按時完成家庭作業(yè)。9. I felt tired and sleepy at school all day long.    all day long 意為 整天    強調(diào)由早到晚的過程。    e.g. She sang the song all day long.Practice: Complete the passages with the correct form of the words in the box.Zheng Chenyu was bored with his parents’ (1)_______.He was happy when his parents went away on business, though he soon found that he could not do(2)_______ things.
