Key vocabulary:  result, percent, online, television, although, through, mind, body, such, together, die, writer... ask...about, fifteen percent of the..., four to six times a week, go online, be surprised, at least, use ...for fun, the answer to our question, the best way to do, such as doing, old habits die hard...2. Key sentences: a. Here are the results.b. We found that only fifteen percent of our students exercise every day.c. Although many students like to watch sports, game shows are the most popular.d. Ask Ss to work in pairs to make conversations. What do you usually do in your free time? How often do you … ?運(yùn)用對話來討論自由時(shí)間所的事情以及這些活動的頻率。以此導(dǎo)入今天的2b課文。Step 2Pre-reading(PPT 4-6) Work on 2a. 1. Make Ss rank these activities according to how often they think their classmates do them (1=most often,6=least often 1最多6最少)2. Used the frequency words to summarize the activities. Learn the new words and phrases.3. Summarize the pie chart. 通過對學(xué)生活動的頻率排序,復(fù)習(xí)頻率副詞的用法,為2b課文做了鋪墊。Step 3While-reading(PPT 7-19)Careful reading. Ask Ss to read the article and finish the following tasks.Read the article and complete the pie charts on the next page.2. Read the passage quickly and find the answers to the questions.3. Skim the article and match each paragraph with the following parts. 4. Read each paragraph quickly and draw a line to get the main idea. 5. Read the article and mark True (T) or False (F).6. Read the article again and answer the questions in 2c.7. C heck answers in class.本部分是課文細(xì)讀部分。設(shè)計(jì)這些問題,讓學(xué)生帶著問題閱讀,每讀完一遍都要完成相應(yīng)的任務(wù),以便他們更好的理解文章Step 4Language points (PPT 20-30)1. Explain the usage of ... percent of the..., be surprised, such as doing, start doing sth. Etc.2. Read them and write them down.講解課文的重難點(diǎn)句子和結(jié)構(gòu),以便于學(xué)生掌握。Step 5Summary (PPT 31)1. Ask Ss to summarize the main phrases.2. Read them and write them down.請學(xué)生來總結(jié)本篇課文出現(xiàn)的重點(diǎn)句式結(jié)構(gòu),以培養(yǎng)他們的總結(jié)概括能力。Step 6Post-reading(PPT 32-33)Work on 2d,2e. 1. Ask Ss to write sentences with the percentages using always, usually or sometimes according to the article and the pie chart,. Choose 3 or 4 Ss to give their answers, then check answers in class.2. Make Ss choose one of these free time activities or think of their own.
