動詞不定式的基本形式是“t+動詞原形”,常寫作t d(有時t可以省略),否定形式為nt t d。動詞不定式沒有人稱和數的變化。
動詞不定式具有名詞、形容詞和副詞的特征,因此可在句中作主語、賓語、賓語補足語、定語和狀語等。
作主語:一般位于句首,謂語動詞用單數。 為了避免句子“頭重腳輕”,往往用it代替不定式作形式主語,而將不定式放在后面作真正的主語。結構:It’s +adj.+(fr sb.)+t d sth.
e.g.學外語很有用。 It’s very useful t learn freign languages.
作賓語:主語+謂語V. + t d不定式常出現在一些及物動詞后,構成動詞短語。如:want t d, plan t d, agree t d, learn t d等
另一種是“及物動詞+疑問詞+帶t的不定式”。e.g. 他教我如何使用手機。 He taught me hw t use mbile phne.
作賓語補足語 常接不定式作賓語補足語的詞有tell, ask, want, teach, allw, prmise, rder, advise, expect, wish, invite, encurage 等。 e.g. 他們請他在宴會上唱一首流行歌曲。 They asked him t sing a pp sng at the party.
作表語主語是不定式(表條件);表語也是不定式(表結果) e.g.工作意味著謀生。 T wrk means t earn a living.動詞不定式做表語常用于以下結構:My jb/ dream/gal/aim is… e.g.他的夢想是在不久的將來出國學習。 His aim is t study abrad in the near future.
作定語: 不定式作定語應放于被修飾詞之后。e.g.我想吃點東西。 I want t have smething t eat.與特殊疑問詞連用:放在what, which, where, when, which, wh, hw等詞之后。e.g.他不知道怎樣回答這個問題。 He has n idea f hw t answer this questin. 還沒有決定什么時候舉行會議。 When?t?hld?the?meeting?has?nt?been?decided.
作目的狀語 動詞不定式可表示某一動作或狀態(tài)的目的,位于句首或句尾。 e.g.她提高了她的聲音,以便聽得更好。 She raised her vice t be heard better. 他將去車站見他的朋友。 He will g t the statin t meet his friends.?
