New structures: The UK has always been famous for its museums.               The best time to visit the UK is from May to September because its winter is     wet and cold.     The weather changes often there. III. Focus of the lesson and predicted area of difficultyTeach the students how to organize different ideas by using charts. IV. Teaching proceduresStep 1 Lead-inT: Today, I have got an invitation from my pen-friend Amy. Do you know where the invitation comes from? Yes, its from the UK. Do you want to know more about the UK?【設(shè)計意圖:以invitation主題視頻引出the UK話題,并激發(fā)學(xué)生的學(xué)習(xí)興趣。 Step 2 Presentation: Amys chart 1. Information about the UK(1) The full name of the UKT: Well, Amy also sent me some special post cards. She says that the cards can help me learn more about the UK. Look at the first one. Yes, its a map of the UK. The UK is made up of four parts. So, the full name of the UK is very long. Can you remember it?(2) The rulers of the UKT: Look at the second one. Who are they? Yes, Queen Elizabeth II and her husband. In the past, kings and queens were the rulers. Both of the cards bring me some general information of the UK. They are both about the country.(3) Buckingham PalaceT: Look at the third one. It’s a famous palace, Buckingham Palace. And as we know, its the home of kings and queens.(4) The British MuseumT: Look at the fourth one. Yes, its a famous museum, the British Museum. We can learn a lot about the worlds culture there. Its wonderful, isnt it?(5) The Lake DistrictT: Look at the fifth one. Yes, its the famous Lake District. We can see beautiful swans and other wild animals there. The UK is a good country to visit, isnt it? (6) CurrencyT: But what should we pay attention to when we travel there? Please look at the sixth one. It shows us the local currency. Yes, people there use pounds, not RMB or dollars. Amy is thoughtful enough to offer me some useful tips.2. Group discussionT: What else do you know about the UK? Work in groups of four and have a discussion, and then give a presentation.3. How to introduce a country【設(shè)計意圖:通過創(chuàng)設(shè)情境,幫助學(xué)生了解英國的一些主要信息,解決生詞,同時突出about the country、places to visit、others三個介紹線索。通過預(yù)習(xí)成果的展示,收集更多可能的信息。4. Amys chart T: Now, do you know how to introduce a country?T: Yes, we can pay attention to the three items, about the country, places to visit and others. But how can we get more information about each item?【設(shè)計意圖:通過引導(dǎo)學(xué)生討論如何介紹一個國家及對明信片內(nèi)容的回顧,進(jìn)一步明確線索,并就如何搜集、整理更多細(xì)節(jié)發(fā)問,從而引出Amy的表格。T: Well, a chart might help. Amy wants to introduce the UK to me. She collected some information online and made a chart. Now, lets learn the chart to get more information.【設(shè)計意圖:展現(xiàn)Amy的表格,同時布置學(xué)生了解更多細(xì)節(jié)。 Step 3 Presentation: Amys articleT: Yes, we can use a chart to organize our ideas when we write. This helps us see and understand the ideas better. With the help of the chart, Amy has written an introduction to the UK.1. Para. 1T: The first paragraph it tells us some general information about the UK, so we can also call the part “general introduction. Please pay attention to some useful expressions in the part.T: Read the follow sentences and judge True or False.2. Para. 2T: The second part tells us some places to visit. Exactly, it mentions some places, including palaces, museums and natural beauty, and some things we can do in these places. So we can also call the part what to see and do. Besides the useful expression, please pay attention to the three key words in the part. T: Can you complete the sentences below?3. Para. 3T: The last part offers us some other useful information when visiting the UK. So we can also call the part some tips or additions. Besides the useful expressions, please pay attention to some transitions used in the part.T: Read the third paragraph and answer some questions.【設(shè)計意圖:強調(diào)寫作時表格對材料組織和細(xì)節(jié)理解的作用,通過對表格和范文的分析講解,明確段落、主題和細(xì)節(jié)信息之間的關(guān)系,并引導(dǎo)學(xué)生關(guān)注重要詞匯、表達(dá)、過渡詞;同時通過完成設(shè)計的任務(wù)對范文的內(nèi)容進(jìn)行鞏固記憶。 Step 4 ConclusionT: Now, lets make some conclusions. Do you know how to write an introduction to a country?  And have you learnt any useful expressions?【設(shè)計意圖:回顧并總結(jié)這一主題,完成輸入,鞏固習(xí)得,為下面的實際寫作準(zhǔn)備。 Step 5 Practice1. Group work: Make up a chartT: I’m glad to know that Amy will come to China soon. She will visit China with her parents this summer holiday. Can you help me to introduce China to her?【設(shè)計意圖:通過創(chuàng)設(shè)情境,引出向Amy介紹中國這一任務(wù)。T: Now, lets work in groups. We need to make a chart before writing. Think carefully: what can we introduce to her? We can have a discussion in groups first.T: Well, I have prepared some information.【設(shè)計意圖:設(shè)計小組學(xué)習(xí)任務(wù),通過討論補充、完善細(xì)節(jié)信息,訓(xùn)練學(xué)生收集、整理信息的能力。2. Write the introductionT: Now, its time to write our introductions. Pay attention to the organization and key words. You can use the useful expressions given, and try to use some transitions. 【設(shè)計意圖:布置寫作任務(wù),提醒學(xué)生關(guān)注寫作細(xì)節(jié),完成輸出。3.
