專題10 高級句式升級--狀語從句（原卷版）狀語從句是英語寫作中經(jīng)常使用的從句之一，因此必須學(xué)會并熟練運(yùn)用狀語從句，使寫作的句型更加豐富，邏輯感更強(qiáng)。本專題包括：（一）狀語從句的類型及連詞（二）狀語從句的省略（三）常見句式積累（四）讀后續(xù)寫練習(xí)題（一）狀語從句類型及連詞狀語從句共分九類：時間：when, whenever, while, as, before, after, since, till/until, as soon as地點(diǎn)：where, wherever原因：because, as, since, now that目的：so...that, so that, in order that, in case結(jié)果：so that, so/such...that...條件：if, unless, as long as, in case, on condition that讓步：although/though, even if/though, whether...or..., 疑問詞+ever, no matter+疑問詞比較：as...as, not as/so...as, than, the more..., the more...方式：as, as if/thoughe.g.:1> If it is convenient for you, let's meet at 8:30 outside the school gate. 2> I'll help you read and understand the selected poems before we have a discussion of them. 3> We can set out early so that we will have more time to read and select books. 4> We lost the game, though everyone played well.5> Because the paper is scheduled to come out early July, please send your work to me via this email before 28th of June. （二）狀語從句的省略功能：當(dāng)狀語從句中的主語與主句的主語一致，且狀語從句中含有be動詞時，可以將從句中的主語和be動詞一起省略，避免累贅重復(fù)，使句子更加靈活高級。e.g.:1>The student, when questioned why he had cheated in the exam, just looked at the teacher and said nothing.2>.When young, he used to build castles in the air and thus completed nothing.句子練習(xí)：一旦出版，這本字典會非常暢銷。當(dāng)我在街上閑逛時，我聽見有人叫我的名字。（三）常見句式積累我一進(jìn)入教室，老師就問我為什么來這么晚。（as soon as/ the moment/ the instant / immediately/ directly/ instantly ... ....一......就......）每當(dāng)我經(jīng)過那所學(xué)校，我就想起我的第-一個英語老師。（each/ every time每次，每當(dāng)......）我記得最后一次你訪問我們學(xué)校時，你讓我看了有關(guān)那個主題的照片。（the first time/ the last time第一次/上次） 4. 過了一段時間我才悟出真相。（before在....之前，還沒來得及.....） 5. 只要有趣味性和知識性，你可以寫任何相關(guān)的東西。（as/ so long as只要）如果我有幸成為你們團(tuán)隊的一員，我將不遺余力地為游客提供良好的導(dǎo)游服務(wù)。（providing/provided/ suppose/ supposing (that)/ on condition that..如果，假如....） 7. 盡管坐飛機(jī)比坐車和乘船都貴，但是為了節(jié)省時間我還是坐飛機(jī)去了那里。（even if/ even though即使;盡管） 8. 可是，我認(rèn)為你會很快造應(yīng)它們的，盡管天氣與食物都與你們那里不同。（though/ although/while雖然;盡管） 9. 你們?nèi)绱松屏?、體貼，以至于我們希望成為你們的朋友，無論你們在哪兒。（no matter wh- .. wh-+ -ever ...無.....） 10. 不管好壞，我已經(jīng)決定接受這份工作邀請。（whether .. or (not) ... ....還...不管，不論....） 11.為了提高我的技能，我制定了一個具體的培訓(xùn)計劃。（in order that/ so that為了....） 12. 他做的面人如此漂亮，以至于我們迫不及待地想親自試一試。（so/ such ... that ...如此.....以至于.....）經(jīng)過一天的辛苦工作，我們做了適當(dāng)?shù)陌才牛梢院煤眯菹⒁幌隆?/span> 每當(dāng)我在英語學(xué)習(xí)上遇到困難時，你是我首先要求助的人。只要我們有強(qiáng)大的信念，就能夠克服任何困難。（四）讀后續(xù)寫練習(xí)閱讀下面短文，根據(jù)所給情節(jié)進(jìn)行續(xù)寫，使之構(gòu)成一個完整的故事。Pumpkin (南瓜) carving at Halloween is a family tradition. We visit a local farm every October. In the pumpkin field, I compete with my three brothers and sister to seek out the biggest pumpkin. My dad has a rule that we have to carry our pumpkins back home, and as the eldest child I have an advantage-I carried an 85-pounder back last year. This year, it was hard to tell whether my prize or the one chosen by my 14-year-old brother, Jason, was the winner. Unfortunately we forgot to weigh them before taking out their insides, but I was determined to prove my point. All of us were hard at work at the kitchen table, with my mom filming the annual event. I’m unsure now why I thought forcing my head inside the pumpkin would settle the matter, but it seemed to make perfect sense at the time. With the pumpkin resting on the table, hole uppermost, I bent over and pressed my head against the opening. At first I got jammed just above my eyes and then, as I went on with my task, unwilling to quit, my nose briefly prevented entry. Finally I managed to put my whole head into it, like a cork (軟木塞) forced into a bottle. I was able to straighten up with the huge pumpkin resting on my shoulders. My excitement was short-lived. The pumpkin was heavy. “I’m going to set it down, now,” I said,and with Jason helping to support its weight，I bent back over the table to give it somewhere to rest. It was only when I tried to remove my head that I realized getting out was going to be less straightforward than getting in. When I pulled hard, my nose got in the way. I got into a panic as I pressed firmly against the table and moved my head around trying to find the right angle, but it was no use. “I can’t get it out!” I shouted, my voice sounding unnaturally loud in the enclosed space.
