A new study has suggested that the key t reducing feelings f anger is nt venting (letting the angry emtins ut) but ding calming activities such as yga r meditatin.

They used a thery f emtin (情緒假說(shuō)) that says emtins are partly felt in yur bdy and partly in yur mind.
The scientists lked at the ther studies t see hw different activities influenced anger. They fund that activities such as running r bxing—which are ften thught t be gd fr dealing with anger—weren’t very gd at reducing it. In fact, sme f these activities actually made it wrse because they increased physical respnses in the bdy that are linked t feeling angry. Fr example, they made peple’s hearts beat faster. Hwever, activities that decreased physical respnses in the bdy did help t reduce feelings f anger. These included activities that slw the heart rate, such as deep breathing, meditatin and yga. Bushman says activities that increase physical respnses may be gd fr heart health but are “definitely nt the best way t reduce anger”.
The team fund jgging was mst likely t increase anger. Hwever, sme heart-rate increasing activities—like ball games and team sprts—culd reduce anger.

A thery f emtin
Tw scientists called Stanley Schachter and Jerme Singer develped the tw-factr thery f emtin in 1962. They said that emtins are frmed in tw parts. First, the bdy has a physical respnse t a threat and then the mind cnsiders the physical respnse as an emtin, which is then felt by the persn. Fr example, imagine yu are walking thrugh a frest and yu see a bear. Seeing it wuld prbably start a physical respnse, such as yur heart beating very fast and sweat breaking ut. Yur mind then decides that this is fear, which yu feel as an emtin.
