Chinese calligraphy (書法) is a traditinal art f writing Chinese characters. Chinese scripts (字體) are the seal (篆), the fficial (隸), the regular (楷), the cursive (草) and the running (行). Different styles stand fr different thughts and emtins. The writing brush, Chinese ink, paper and ink stne are necessary materials and tls. They are knwn as the Fur Treasures f the Study.
T write calligraphy first f all, prepare the fur treasures and lay ut the paper. Then pur the ink int the ink stne tile (硯臺). Next, hld the brush tightly with the thumb (手指), index finger (食指) and middle finger f the right hand. Finally, dip the brush in the ink and write n the paper.
It’s nt easy t write calligraphy. We need a lng time f hard training t write beautifully. There were many famus calligraphers (書法家) in histry such as Ouyang Xun, Yan zhenqing, Liu Gngquan and Zha Mengfu. Calligraphers have created plenty f masterpieces which has been passed frm generatin t generatin. Smetimes students are rganized t admire the wrks f famus calligraphers. One f the mst famus masterpieces is Orchid Pavilin Preface (蘭亭序) by Wang Xizhi, anther famus calligrapher in histry.
