I’m the nly prcrastinatin in my family.My parents and sister were all brn with the “d it right nw” gift.They are always in a rush,as if clsely rushed by an invisible deadline.Persnally,I prefer a mre relaxed pace.When my parents viced their cncern abut my tendencies,saying “Dn’t put ff until tmrrw what yu can d tday,” “N way!” I respnded,cnfidently presenting my research as a defense.It said peple prcrastinated when they need t slve a prblem r cmmit t a tpic r prject.In these cases,delaying a decisin can be beneficial.This was because ur minds cntinue t reflect n prblems even when we were nt actively thinking abut them,which culd lead t mre creative slutins.My findings filled me with satisfactin and pride.My methd f getting things dne was just as gd as my sister’ s I thught.
At schl we’d been talking abut architecture and design.As part f the final assessment my teacher Mr.Smith annunced an exciting prject that each student wuld have a mnth t cmplete.We were expected t chse ur materials,cnstruct a small building and make use f things we had learnt in class.Nt nly wuld the winners receive extra credit,but the winning cnstructins wuld be prudly displayed in the cafeteria.“I have n clue hw I culd get it dne,” my friend Nate sighed in despair.I didn’t say anything.Nt because I shared his anxiety—but because I was nt nervus at all.I lved hands-n prjects!Picturing my brilliant wrk exhibited in the cafeteria,I was fully cnvinced that I wuld definitely prduce smething that culd impress everyne.S relaxed was I that I didn’t give it a secnd thught fr weeks.
