Accrding t statistics frm Technmic, 86% f cnsumers are using ff-premise (非經(jīng)營現(xiàn)場的) channels at least nce a mnth, and a third f cnsumers are using it mre than they did a year ag.
Mst restaurants cmpanies are chasing these trends simply t keep up with quickly changing cnsumer demands. Fazli’s has spent the past tw years investing in its drive-thrugh, carry-ut, catering and delivery businesses, and has launched a new lyalty app aimed at making carry-ut rders easier. These effrts have paid ff s far — ff-premise sales are up 18.5% ver last year fr the cmpany, said Jennifer Crawfrd, directr f ff-premise sales at Fazli’s.
But, she nted that sales aren’t the nly benefit t giving pririty t these channels. “The ff-premise channel is a great pprtunity t cmmunicate and cnnect with a new cnsumer grup,” Crawfrd said. “Many f ur ff-premise guests have nt dined in a Fazli’s r experienced ur menu. With ptins like third-party delivery and nline rdering, we have the capability t tap int ptential new guests.”
Sales lifts and new custmer ptential are great rewards, t be sure. But that desn’t mean carrying ut ff-premise channels cmes withut challenges. Crawfrd said a big ne is the lack f cntrl and maintaining the guest relatinship. “When a guest dines in, we can prvide a level f service that imprves the cnsumer dining experience,” she said. The lack f cntrl extends int the digital experience, as third-party apps can als be an issue. “Orders are nt ften prcessed prperly due t the drp-dwn (下拉式) menus and default (默認(rèn)) rders in third-party sftware,” Crawfrd said. She added that staffing issues can als arise when heavy delivery perids verlap restaurant busy hurs and maintaining fd quality and integrity (完好) during delivery time is tricky fr certain dishes.
Nevertheless, Crawfrd believed the juice is very much wrth the squeeze. “Acrss the industry, dine-in traffic cntinues t decline r remain flat. If brands are nt driving sales thrugh catering, carry-ut and delivery, they are missing ut n incme,” she said.
