Natural resurces and wildlife, fficials in Maryland are encuraging hunting f deer, turkeys and sme ther wild animals, which is believed t be gd fr the envirnment. Withut hunting, they say, sika deer will verppulate the wildlife refuge and they’ll vereat the bushes and ther plants that prvide imprtant habitat fr birds. On the western shre f the Chesapeake Bay, hunting is als imprtant t prevent the spread f diseases such as Lyme.
In many families, the hunting traditin has been handed dwn fr generatins^ But as lngtime sprtsmen age and children lse interest, the number f hunters in the United States fell by 2 millin, frm 2011 t 2018, t abut 11 millin.

When I see wasted fd, I always think f a hungry dg climbing t garbage bins, searching fr fd that peple have thrwn there. When eating in a restaurant, I’m nt afraid t take leftver fd t feed stray cats r dgs.
A week ag, I saw a hmeless dg arund the garbage bins. Immediately I knelt dwn, spke t her sftly and ran my hands ver her. I culd see that she had had puppies. I culdn’t imagine hw she culd have been able t care fr them. Hurs earlier, I’d bagged up a plate f leftver fish. As I unwrapped it, she wagged her tail and sniffed at it. She ate all the fish in n time.
It’s sad, isn’t it? I can’t understand why many f us waste s much and think little f it. These hmeless animals have taught me that fd is precius. Even when I dn’t have leftvers with me, I’ll take the time t get smething frm the grcery stre t feed them.

A Danish beer cmpany called Carlsberg is wrking with Pabc n a paper bttle called the “Green Fiber Bttle”. In the future the cmpany hpes t use a “bi-plastic” that will break dwn naturally ver time. This shuld make the bttle fully recyclable. Diage says they’ll use the bttle with their whiskey in 2023.
Hwever, there’s still lts f testing t be dne befre paper bttles can replace glass r plastic bttles. Cmpanies will need t see hw lng liquids can be stred in the bttles, and make sure the bttles dn’t influence the taste.
