He’s the boy who won the photo competition last year!這句話是由who引導的定語從句，先行詞是the boy，關系代詞who在從屬分句中做主語。that和who都能引導定語從句，但兩者有不同。用that引導的定語從句，先行詞可以是人也可以是物；用who引導的定語從句先行詞只能是人。例子：(1) The boy that / who wears a T-shirt is my brother.先行詞是the boy，關系代詞既可以用that也可以用who。(2) I’m looking for the photos that you took in Australia.先行詞是the photos，關系代詞要用that。3. The thing is, he’s really good. the thing is 意思是“問題是，原因是”，常用于口語中，不用于書面語。4. And the general standard of the competition is much higher this year. (1) general是形容詞，意思是“普遍的”，修飾standard。拓展：in general意思是“通常，大體上；總的來說”。(2) standard是名詞，意思是“標準，水準”。當standard用作復數standards時，可以表示：行為標準，道德水準。5. What are the subjects that they have chosen for this year’s competition?that they have chosen for this year’s competition是定語從句，先行詞是subjects，關系詞是that，關系詞在從句中做賓語。 6.
