Look at the picture and say what is happening. 1)The students look at the picture and discuss the picture in groups.2) Choose some students to show their discussions. 3) Give encouragement and praise for good performance. 2.Listen and complete the sentences.1) Listen to the tape and understand the main idea. 2) Let the students listen carefully and complete the sentences in activity 2.3) Ask students to work in groups, discuss and give answers to see which group has a high accuracy rate.4) Let students listen to the dialogue and pay attention to the words' pronunciation and intonation.Reading 3.Listen and read. Read the dialogue and answer the questions.1. What did He Zhong do last year?2. Which subject does Daming suggest Tony should choose? 3. Where is Tonys real home town? 4. What does Daming suggest Tony should do? 5. What does Tony think of Damings suggestion?1) Ask the students to check with a partner.2) Check the answers.3)  Listen to the tape and follow the tape. Language pointsLet the students read activity 3 again, then find out the main language points and understand their meaning and usage in the text. 1. Daming: Are you going to enter the            photo competition, Tony?    Tony: You bet! bet   v. 打賭;下賭注 bet + on / against 打賭某事不會發(fā)生

           我包你不會贏。2. The thing is, hes really good.    the thing is 意為答案是;問題是, 用 來解釋或者闡述一件事情。      e.g. The thing is, I have plans on Saturday night.        問題是,我星期六晚上有計劃了。3. I have a feeling that we can solve these little difficulties.   feeling  n. 感覺; 知覺; 直覺看法  e.g. Ive lost all feeling in my hands.  我的雙手失去了知覺。 The peasant child has a natural feeling for music.  那位農(nóng)民的小孩對音樂具有一種天然的感受力。 difficulty  n. 困難; 困境have difficulty in doing sth. ……有困難e.g. He faced the difficulty with courage.   他勇敢地面對困難。    I had difficulty in getting the ink off my skirt.  我很難把襯衣上的墨水洗掉。 5. What are the subjects that theyve  chosen for this years competition?subject    n. 主題; 話題; 科目subject 著重指文章、書籍、畫或談話等所涉及對象的題目或主題。 e.g. This is a book on the subject of love. 這是一部以愛情為主題的書。 What is the subject of the poem? 這首詩的題目是什么? 6. Take some photos of Beijing and add some photos of Cambridge that you took recently. 1) add  v. 添加 e.g. The drink will be too sweet if you add more sugar.     如果你再加糖, 這杯飲料就太甜了。 add...to ……加到…… e.g. She added sugar to her tea.     她在茶里加了糖。 2) recently  adv. 最近; 近來e.g. The book was published recently.  這本書剛出版。    I have seen him quite recently.   我最近見過他。What about that photo of my cousin flying kites with Chinese kids V-ing短語(flying kites )作定語要放在被修飾詞(my cousin)之后。 注意:單個V-ing作定語常放在被修飾詞之前。如:China is a developing country.【拓展】V-ing作定語,意義上相當于一個定語從句,表示正在進行的動作或主動的動作。如:The man reading a novel is my father. = The man who is reading a novel is my father. 8. Im sure youre in with a chance! be in with a chance 是非正式英式英 , 意為……的可能, 有機會。 若表達 有可能/機會做某事, 則用 be in with a chance to do sth.= have a chance to do sth.e.g. I think Im in with a chance of getting the job. 我認為我有可能獲得這份工作。I think I am with a chance to pass this test. 我認為我能通過這次測試。翻譯他說他有機會出國。He said he was in with a chance to /had a chance to go broad.Step 3 Practice  4.Find the words in the box in Activity 3.1)  Let the students read the dialogue fast and find the words.2)  Let the students use the words to make sentences.3)  Let the students read the dialogue carefully and choose the answer.4) Ask the students to check with a partner.5) Check the answers.Pronunciation and speaking5.Listen and mark the words which the speaker links.1) Listen to the tape and mark the words which the speaker links.2) Check the answer.3) Listen again and repeat.6.
