What happened to your head?

Teaching Aims:
一、 知識技能目標
1. Ss will be able to read and use the words: bike ride, thirsty, watermelon, carried, bumped, fell off.
2. Ss will be able to read the main sentences: Daming and Sam went for a bike ride. They were hungry and thirsty. They bought a watermelon. Sam carried the watermelon on the bike. Sam fell off the bike. Daming bumped his head. Sam took Daming and the watermelon to the hospital.
3. Ss will be able to read and act out the story at the end of this lesson.
一、 語用功能目標
Ss will be able to retell and act out Daming and Sam’s story at the end of the lesson.
二、 情感價值目標
Ss will be able to realize that we should be careful when we do aports.
三、 教材分析
本課是《英語》(新標準)(一年級起點第七冊)第九模塊第一單元的第2課時,主要談論Daming and Sam在一次騎自行車途中發(fā)生的一個小事故。本課教材原文中,故事圖片太小,顯得情節(jié)發(fā)展得比較支離破碎,不利于學生直接整體理解、學習故事,故在注重文本的語段性、情境性的前提下,將教材原文內容進行了合理的剪裁和整合,使故事情節(jié)更加完整,豐富了學生的想象力,同時,融新舊知識于一體,以目標語言為主線,更能有效達成本課教學目標。本課在復習部分規(guī)則及不規(guī)則動詞過去式的基礎上,讓學生懂得用過去式來談論過去發(fā)生的事故,同時讓學生建立起在做運動時,應注意自身安全的意識。
四、 學情分析
本課的教學對象是四年級學生,他們在本學期已經學習并掌握了規(guī)則及部分不規(guī)則動詞的過去式,對動詞的過去式變化規(guī)則有了一定的了解。在此基礎上,學生學習并運用本課目標語言來講述過去發(fā)生的事故難度并不太大。

Teaching Procedures:
Step 1. Warm up
1. Greetings
T: Good morning, Children. Nice to meet you!
Okay, let’s say a chant.
2. Say a chant.
Go, go, go to school. Went, went, went to school.
See, see, see a monkey. Saw, saw, saw a monkey.
Buy, buy, buy a pen. Bought, bought, bought a pen.
Do, do, do my homework. Did, did, did my homework.
Clean, clean, clean my room. Cleaned, cleaned, cleaned my room.
Play, play, play football. Played, played, played football.
Step 2 帶著問題進入故事
1. Lead in
T: Well done, boys and gilrs. Look! Who are they? (T舉起大明和Sam的頭飾)They are our good friends: Daming and Sam. Yesterday they played together. Look at the picture. It was sunny yesterday. (板書)Daming and Sam went for a bike ride.
Teach bike ride
1)做動作教讀3遍,并要求學生做動作跟讀。(bike, ride, hide, rice)
2)小組讀。(給出本課評價機制,小組騎自行車比賽)
And today we’ll go for a bike ride, too. We have 4 groups. Group 1, Group 2, Group 3. Let’s see who will be the first to get to the finish line. OK? Come on, children!
3)抽讀8個,要求學生做動作。
4)齊讀Sam and Daming went for a bike ride.(板書)
2. 提出問題
T: Well, after they rode a long, long way, oops, what happened? And then, what happened? Some pictures are missing. We don’t know. Oh, what happened? (PPT呈現(xiàn)問號圖片,T語氣、表情、動作夸張引導學生思考)
3. Picture 7
Look! Children, we only know this picture. Look at this picture! (PPT呈現(xiàn)圖片6,T引導學生觀察)
What can you see? (Daming and Sam and a woman.) She is a doctor or a nurse.
So where were they? In the hospital. (拿出hospital卡片,教讀2遍,再貼在講臺上,為后面表演做準備) And there was a watermelon.
Teach watermelon
1) PPT呈現(xiàn)water+melon=watermelon, 拿出西瓜道具教讀3遍,要求學生做動作跟讀。
2)大小聲讀。(T上下舉西瓜,引導學生大小聲操練)
3)傳西瓜讀單詞。
T: So, now can you read? Let’s try together. (PPT呈現(xiàn)句子)
Sam took Daming and the watermelon to the hospital.
Step 3 帶著疑問猜測故事
T: But children, why? Guess! What happened? That’s my question. Use your imagination. Maybe they had a car crash. Maybe they hit each other. Maybe they helped people, so they got a watermelon as a gift. Maybe they… What’s your idea? Try to speak English. If you can’t, use body language. Now share your ideas in pairs. Go!抽生2~4個:
Ok! What’s your idea? Who can tell me?(板書在Bb上)
Step 4 帶著好奇理解故事
T: Now, please find out what happened by yourselves. And discuss in groups. Here are some tips for you. (提供學習策略)
1. Learn to read the new words. For example, bike---ride; water and melon, we have watermelon.
2. Guess the meanings of the new words from the pictures.
Look at the pictures carefully.
T: You have 1 minute. Now, take out this paper. Find out what happened in groups!
Step 5 帶著期待聆聽故事
T: Ok! Let’s learn the story together.
1) Learn Picture 2 and thirsty
T: So after they rode a long, long way, what happened? They were very hot/tired/sad. They were hungry and . How to read it? PPT出示圖片,師做動作,并請Ss試讀新詞thirsty
①請小老師教讀(Bingo! You got it. Give me five!)
②T示范做動作讀,再抽生做動作個別讀
③抽生猜詞義(”thirsty” means ?)
④呈現(xiàn)PPT圖片及句子并抽生讀
The crow was thirsty. He was thirsty.
⑤抽生表演句子
T: Now let’s act it out. They were hungry and thirsty. Who can?
2) Learn Picture 3
T: So, they were hungry and thirsty, and then what did they buy? Look at the picture. They bought a watermelon.抽生回答
3)Learn Picture 4 and carry--carried
T: Look! Where was the watermelon now? On the bike. Yes, on Sam’s bike. So…
Sam the watermelon on the bike. cat+sorry=carry(PPT呈現(xiàn)句子及新詞)
①抽生試讀新詞carry,小老師教讀(Bingo! You got it. Give me a hug!)
②T示范動作,并抽生表演讀
③教讀carry的一般過去式carried
④抽生猜詞義(”carried” means ?)
⑤呈現(xiàn)PPT圖片及句子,請生讀
⑥抽生表演句子
T: OK! Sam carried the watermelon on the bike. So who can act it out? Who wants to try? (抽生2個)
And look carefully, was it easy for Sam? How was Sam? Sam was happy? Sam was angry? 抽生
Ss: Sam was hot/hungry/thirsty/sad/tired… I agree with you.
4)Learn Picture 5 and fall off
T: Oops! Where was the watermelon? And where was Sam? (They were on the ground.) So what happened to Sam?
Sam off his bike. (well—fell)

②T抽生個別讀
③教讀fell off,fall off,注意連讀
④抽生猜詞義(”fell off” means ?)
⑤呈現(xiàn)PPT圖片及句子,請生描述圖片
⑥請生表演句子
T: So Sam fell off his bike. Who can act it out? Who wants to try? 抽生一到兩個
5)Learn Picture 6 and bump
So Sam fell off his bike. Now look at Daming! Ouch! Poor Daming!
Daming his head. (PPT出示mum→bum→bump)
①請生試讀新詞bump,抽生教讀(一位小老師)
②T示范動作教讀,在抽個體讀
③教讀bump--bumped
④抽生猜詞義(”bumped” means ?)
T: Look! I bumped my arm. Who can do it? 抽生兩到三個
Oh, what happened to him/her just now? He/She bumped his/her head/arm/ hand/ leg...
⑤呈現(xiàn)PPT圖片及句子,請生說句子
⑥請生表演句子And Daming bumped his head.
So that’s the whole story. Sam fell off the bike, and Daming bumped his head. So, a good day or a bad day? Yes, what a bad day!
6) Check Ss’s guessings before
T: So who was right? (T and Ss一起看Bb上的預測)
7) 情感教育
T: So what do you think of this bike ride? Good or bad? Why?
So, children, remember be careful when you do sports!
Step 6 Consolidation
1. Who’s the lucky dog?
T: Ok, children, now we’re going to play an exciting game, who’s the lucky dog? Look! There is a turntable. Daming and Sam’s bike ride is in it. And there are some pictures. Let's see what they are. What’s this? (bike ride, thirsty, bought, carried, fell off, bumped)
1)Now the turntable is going round and round. Which word will be pointed? Guess? Which word? 抽生10個左右
2)So, children, tell me which word do you like? 學生各自說
3)Look. One, two, three! 轉盤停止轉動Wow, who's the lucky dog?
Play this 3 times.
2. Retell the story
T: Now, children, please look at the Bb. It was sunny yesterday. Daming and Sam went for a bike ride. And then…看黑板板書
3. Yes, yes, yes and no, no, no
T: All right, children, true or false time. If it is true, say yes, yes, yes; if it is false, say no, no, no. (用手勢做動作)
Wow, you know Daming and Sam’s bike ride so well. Good job!
Step 7 帶著感情講述故事
1. Enjoy the story.
T: Now let’s listen and watch the story. Please listen carefully.
2. Make a little book and read the story together.
1) Make the book.
T: Now, let’s make a little book. Please take out the paper. Now follow me. Like this! And then like this. Wow! I made a little book. Did you make one, too? How magic!
2) Read the story together.
T: The book is about Daming and Sam’s story. Now, let’s read it together.
3. Give a title to the story.
T: Now let’s give a title to the story.
1) Give a title to the story.
2) Think for 30s.
3) Ask Ss to say their titles to the story.
4) Give Ss some examples. They can choose the best one they like.
5) Give T’s answer and write it down on the Bb.
6) Ask Ss to write down their titles and names on the cover.
Step 8 帶著欣賞表演故事
Act out the story in groups.
T: Ok, it's show time. Let’s act out the story in groups. 2 of you tell the story and 2 act it out. Understand?
Now, who wants to show us? Which group? 請3個組
Ok! Let’s see who’s the winner today? I think all of you did a very good job. So all of you are the winners today. Bid hands for yourselves!
Step 9 Homework
T: Children, homework for today.
1. Read the story to your family.
2. Remind your friends to be careful when they do sports.
