Play a short video of basketball for the students to enjoy.
Then talk about the basic equipment about basketball: basketball, basket, backboard, net, wooden floor.

stop…from doing sth.阻止……做某事
We must stop him from going to swim in the river.

在主動語態(tài)中,stop…from doing sth. 中的from可以省略,但在被動語態(tài)中不能省略。

not only…but also…不但……而且……
在句中常用來連接兩個對等的成分,also可以省略。
She speaks Russian not only in class but (also) at home.
她在課堂上和家里都說俄語。
not only... but (also)... 用來連接并列主語時,謂語動詞的單復數(shù)遵循“就近原則”,即與but (also)后的名詞或代詞的數(shù)保持一致。
Not only Zhou Xia but also her parents are fond of watching football matches.
不僅周霞而且她的父母也都喜歡看足球賽。
5. The number of foreign players, including Chinese players, in the NBA has increased.
NBA中的外國球員數(shù)量有所增加,其中也包括中國球員。
the number of...……的數(shù)量,后接可數(shù)名詞復數(shù),作主語時,謂語動詞用單數(shù)形式。
