“Yu are?” said Jsie. “But we always d smething earthy n yur birthday.” “Remember that salamander (火蜥蜴) we fund tw years ag?” said Tyler. “Yeah,” said April. “This year, we're nt even ging utside.”
“Oh!” said Tyler.
The fllwing weekend, everyne gathered in the parking lt utside f Maze Craze.
“Thanks fr cming,” said April. “I've been s excited abut my party. N shvels (鏟子). N cllecting recyclables. Nthing earthy abut it.” She shifted her feet. “Then I gt here this mrning and saw this parking lt.”
April's friends glanced arund. Plastic bttles bunced (彈起) acrss the grund. Newspapers and fast-fd sacks blcked the strm drain (排水道). Shpping bags rustled (沙沙作響) in the trees.[懸念3]
