Hw d yu feel abut nature? After spending hurs indrs, d yu feel better when yu visit yur lcal park? 1 believe the answer must be “YES”.
Mst peple think that nature is gd fr ur bdies and brains. Hwever, humans are spending mre time inside and less time utside. Fr example, the number f visitrs t Canada’s natinal parks is getting smaller every year. And in cuntries such as the USA, nly 10% f teenagers spend time utside every day. Many dctrs feel that this is a prblem in the twenty-first century.
Therefre, sme dctrs are studying the cnnectin between nature and health: ne example is the wrk f Dr. Matilda in Sweden. The dctr gave peple a math test. During the test, their heart rates were fast. After the test, ne grup f peple sat in a 3D-virtual-reality (虛擬現(xiàn)實) rm fr fifteen minutes with pictures and sunds f nature. Their heart rates were slwer than peple’s in the ther grup. The virtual tuch with nature helped them feel mre relaxed. The natural wrld allws ur brains t rest and slw dwn, and can leave us feeling happier and less stressed. Anther example frm Canada als shws nature is gd fr health. In Trnt, researchers studied 31, 000 peple living in the city. In general, they fund that healthier peple lived near parks.
Because f studies like these, sme cuntries and cities want peple t enjy nature in their everyday life. In Dubai, peple plan t build a new shpping mall with a large garden, s shppers can relax utside with trees, plants and water. And Suth Krea has new frests near its cities and arund 13 millin peple visit these frests every year. Getting clse t nature has been thught t be necessary fr brain develpment in children. In Switzerland, “frest schls” are ppular. Schl children study their subjects in the frests and exercise a lt utside. S after building cities fr s lng, perhaps it’s nw time t start rebuilding nature.
In a wrd, nature hlds a special kind f energy: it is clean, wild and spirit-renewing, which makes us grw strnger. 47
45. What is the purpse f Paragraph 2?
A. T share peple’ s ideas abut nature.
B. T ffer sme advice fr peple’s lives.
C. T raise the prblem f peple’s lifestyle.
D. T shw peple’s lives in different cuntries.
46. What d the results f the studies in Paragraph 3 mainly shw?
A. The math test is hard and makes peple very nervus.
B. Nature can relax peple and influence them psitively.
C. Peple’s heart rates increase in a 3D-virtual-reality rm.
D. Many healthy peple in Canada like t live clse t parks.
47. The best sentences that can be put in the blank f the last paragraph is ________.
A. S nature is ur best chice, isn’t it?
B. S why nt run away frm the cities?
C. S why nt let nature be part f ur daily life?
D. S nature is mre imprtant than cities, isn’t it?

Self-talk Helps Us All
Talking t yurself may seem a little shameful. If yu’ve ever been verheard criticizing yurself fr a flish mistake r practicing a speech, yu’ll knw the scial prblems it can cause. Accrding t the well-knwn saying, talking t yurself is the first sign f madness.
But there’s n need fr embarrassment. Talking t urselves, whether ut lud r silently in ur heads, is valuable. Self-talk allws us t plan what we are ging t d, manage ur activities and cntrl ur emtins. Fr example, take a trip t any preschl and watch a small girl playing with her tys. Yu are very likely t hear her talking t herself: ffering herself directins and talking abut her prblems. Psychlgists call this private speech — language that is spken ut lud but directed at yurself. We d a lt f it when we are yung.
As children, accrding t the Russian psychlgist Lev Vygtsky, we use private speech t regulate (規(guī)范) ur actins in the same way that we use public speech t cntrl the behavir f thers. As we grw lder, we internalize this system.
Psychlgical experiments have shwn that this s-called inner speech can imprve ur perfrmance in tasks like judging what ther peple are thinking. One recent study suggested that self-talk is mst effective when we address urselves in the secnd persn: as “yu” rather than “I”.
We keep the private speech we use as children inside — but we never truly put away the ut-lud versin. If yu want prf, turn n a sprts channel. Yu’re sure t see an athlete r tw cheering themselves up r sclding (責備) themselves after a bad sht.
Making a dialgue with urselves — asking questins f the self and prviding answers — seems t be a very gd way f slving prblems and wrking thrugh ideas. Hearing different pints f view means ur thughts can end up in different places, just like a regular dialgue, and might turn ut t be ne f the keys t human creativity.
Bth kinds f self-talk — the silent and the ut-lud — seem t bring many different benefits t ur thinking. Wrds t the self, spken silently r alud, are s much mre than just idle chatter.
48. Frm the first tw paragraphs, we can learn that ________.
A. there is n need fr us t talk t urselves ften
B. mst preschl girls like talking t themselves
C. making private speeches brings us much value
D. criticizing urselves can cause scial prblems
49. What des the wrd “internalize” in Paragraph 4 mean?
A. T stp ding smething B. T keep smething inside
C. T take smething ut D. T thrw smething away
50. Accrding t the recent study, which kind f self-talk is mst effective?
A. I talk t myself silently: “I culd d better.”
B. I talk t myself ut lud: “I culd d better.”
C. I talk t myself silently: “He culd d better.”
D. I talk t myself ut lud: “Yu culd d better.”
51. Hw can self-talk help us?
A. It helps peple slve prblems.
B. It makes peple hear their real thughts.
C. It allws peple t express feelings clearly.
D. It imprves the effectiveness f addressing ideas.
七、閱讀短文,根據(jù)短文內(nèi)容回答問題。(共10分,每小題2分)
Is it hard fr yu t g near peple r jin in cnversatins? D yu feel shy and nervus when yu talk t smene new?
Sme peple seem t naturally knw hw t start a cnversatin with anyne, in any place. But the truth is that nne f us are brn with scial skills. They’re things we learn ver time. If yu’re nt ne f thse lucky nes, these tips will help yu start talking when yu first meet smene.
Say smething abut the surrundings(環(huán)境). If yu’re at a party, fr example, yu can start a talk by saying smething abut the place, the fd, r the music. “I lve this sng,” “The fd’s great. Have yu tried the chicken?”
Ask an pen-ended questin, ne that calls fr mre than just a yes r n answer. Yu’d better begin with ne f the 5 W’s questins. Questins that start with wh, where, when, what r why are called 5W’s questins. Fr example, “Wh d yu knw here?” “Where d yu usually g n a Friday?” “When did yu mve here?” “What keeps yu busy?” “Why did yu decide t becme a vegetarian?” Mst peple enjy talking abut themselves, s asking a questin is a gd way t get a cnversatin started.
Use a cmpliment(贊美). Fr example, “I really like yur handbag, can I ask where yu gt it?”
Keep the cnversatin ging with small talk. Dn’t say smething that’s clearly annying(讓人厭煩的) and avid heavy subjects such as plitics r religin (宗教). It is wise t chse light subjects like the weather, schl, bks, r sprts teams. These subjects may help yu find smething yu bth like.
Listen effectively. Listening is nt the same as waiting fr yur turn t talk. One f the keys t effective cmmunicatin is t fcus fully n the speaker and shw interest in what’s being said. Nd frm time t time, smile at the persn, and make sure yur psture(姿態(tài)) is pen and inviting.
Hw can we start a talk if we’re at the party?
What are the 5 W’s questins?
Why shuld we chse light subjects?
What is ne f the keys t effective cmmunicatin?
What d yu think f the tips? And Why?
