Nw everyne drives everywhere fr everything,which I dn’t understand because there isn’t a single feature f driving in Britain that has even the tiniest measure f enjyment in it.Just cnsider the average multi-strey(多層的) car park.Yu drive arund fr ages,and eventually find a space that is exactly tw inches wider than the average car.Then,because yu are parked next t a pillar(柱子),yu have t climb ver the seats and end up squeezing ut f the passenger dr,in the prcess transferring all the dirt frm the side f yur car t the back f yur smart new jacket.Then yu g hunting fr sme distant pay-and-display machine,which desn’t give change.
And that’s just ne tiny part f the driving experience.There are all the ther annyances f mtring,like traffic lights n busy rundabuts(環(huán)狀交叉路) that never let yu advance mre than 20 feet at a time,and mtrway service areas where fd is much mre expensive.Mtrized vehicles are ugly and dirty.They ccupy every pavement,turn ancient market squares int disrderly and untidy grups f metal,and cause petrl statins and ther discuraging places t appear in great numbers.They are hrrible and awful and I wanted nthing t d with them n this trip.
