Hng Yunzhu received a call in June frm a service platfrm fr senir citizens in Shanghai's Changning district reminding her f her dctr's appintment. Hng then clicked n a related device and a taxi was bked fr her.
She used the "ne-click service fr the elderly" tl that makes cmmunicatin between residents and the platfrm pssible thrugh the use f internet f things, big data and clud cmputing.
Accrding t Feng Xiali, a staff member f the cmmunity service ffice f the Jiangsu Rad subdistrict where Hng lives, the device allws elderly residents t call a htline fr assistance r make a taxi bking with just a click f the buttn. In the event f an emergency, hlding the buttn wuld alert relevant authrities as well.
As part f the city's digital transfrmatin effrts, the device was first launched in 2019 by the civil affairs bureau in Changning district, an area with 39,900 residents aged ver 80, and later in the Jiangsu Rad area. T date, 300 devices have facilitated sme 667 services fr senir citizens in Shanghai.
The service is available 24 hurs a day thrughut the year fr applicants ver 60 years ld wh have Shanghai medical insurance.
Accrding t the bureau, Shanghai has 12 scenaris related t "smart elderly care". In Changning, a three-level elderly care advisry system cvering districts, subdistricts and residences has been established.

High-perfrmance cmputing has been used in carrying ut scientific research and develpment, such as weather frecasts. It nw can be used in mre areas such as graph analytics, which can help deliver enhanced value. High-perfrmance graph cmputing is the cre technlgy f artificial intelligence and big data, said Zheng Weimin, an academician at the Chinese Academy f Engineering.
Graph analytics is a set f analytic techniques that help explre relatinships amng rganizatins, peple and transactins.
Market research cmpany Gartner said in a reprt that by 2023, graph technlgies will facilitate rapid cntextualizatin fr decisin-making in 30 percent f rganizatins wrldwide, and its average annual grwth rate is frecast t exceed 100 percent.
Graph analytics can help data and analytics leaders find unknwn relatinships in data and review data nt easily analyzed with traditinal analytics. Fr example, as the wrld scrambles t respnd t the nging COVID-19 pandemic, graph technlgies can relate entities acrss everything frm gespatial data n peple's phnes t facial-recgnitin systems that can analyze phts t determine wh might have cme int cntact with individuals wh later tested psitive fr the crnavirus, Gartner added.
"Mre effrts are needed t develp high-perfrmance graph cmputing technlgy. The sftware and hardware invlved in this technlgy are areas where China is likely t face restrictins frm thers in the future," Zheng said.
Yang Juan, president f Haizhi Netwrk Technlgy Beijing C Ltd, a Beijing-based graph technlgy cmpany, said graph cmputing has already been used in sectrs such as finance and energy in China.
Experts said graph analytics, fr instance, is being used t help identify fraud and mney laundering activities and give warnings t financial sectr players. When it cmes t e-cmmerce, graph analytics can als help ffer mre accurate nline real-time prduct recmmendatins. In cybersecurity, the technlgy can achieve real-time identificatin f cyberattack perpetratrs, and prtect infrmatin security.
