關(guān)系代詞which指物，在定語從句中作主語或賓語，作賓語時可以省略。如：①This is the fridge (which) he bught yesterday.這就是他昨天買的電冰箱。②The building which stands near my schl is a supermarket. 位于我的學(xué)校旁邊的那幢大樓是一家超市。
關(guān)系代詞that指人時，相當(dāng)于wh；指物時，相當(dāng)于which。當(dāng)其在定語從句中作賓語時可用省略。如：①Mary likes music that is quiet and gentle.瑪麗喜歡輕柔的音樂。②The cat (that) I tried n this mrning is quite nice.我今早試穿的那件外套真漂亮。
that和which在指物的情況下一般都可以互換, 但在下列情況下, 一般用that而不用which。

(1) 先行詞為all, everything, nthing, smething, anything, little, much 等不定代詞時。

(4)先行詞被the nly, the very, the same, the last修飾時。
(5)先行詞既有人, 又有物時。
