Using althugh/thugh
althugh/thugh用作連詞, 意為“盡管, 雖然” , 常用于引導(dǎo)讓步狀語從句。讓步狀語從句表示即使出現(xiàn)在從句中的情況，主句動作仍然會發(fā)生，有“退一步說……”的意思。
althugh和thugh可用于句首或句中, 但不能與連詞but同時使用,不過可與yet, still連用。若主從句的主語相同, 且從句謂語含有動詞be, 可將從句主語和動詞be省略。注意：althugh和thugh在一般情況下可以互換使用。在口語中，thugh較常使用，althugh比thugh更正式一些。
e.g. I will try it, althugh I may fail. 即使我可能失敗，我也要試一下。 Althugh /thugh (it was) snwing, it was nt very cld. 雖然在下雪, 但是天氣不是很冷。 There is air arund us, althugh we can’t see it. 盡管我們看不見, 但我們周圍全是空氣。

such... that 作“ 如此……以至于” 解，連接結(jié)果狀語從句。(結(jié)果狀語從句是用來補(bǔ)充說明主句動作發(fā)生所帶來的結(jié)果。) 和 s... that 意思相同，但是用法不同。s 是副詞，后面可加形容詞和副詞：s+ adj./adv.+ that clauseeg. It is s nice that we can g ut fr a picnic.天氣是如此的好以至于我們可以 外出野餐。
而 such 是限定詞，后面要加名詞或名詞詞組，名詞前面可以帶形容詞，也可以不帶。such +nun/nun phrases + that clause
e.g. It is such a nice day that we can g ut fr a picnic. 今天是如此好的一天以至于我們可以外出野餐。
注意：如果such 后面的名詞前由many, much, few, little 等詞所修飾的話，則不用such 而用s。
e.g. He had s little educatin that he was unfit fr this jb. 他所受教育很少，不適合這個工作。

用such, s 或 very 填空。
Using s that
s that引導(dǎo)目的狀語從句, (目的狀語從句用以說明主句動作發(fā)生的目的。)其從句中的謂語動詞通常和情態(tài)動詞can, may, will, might, wuld, culd, shuld等情態(tài)動詞連用, 而且主句和從句之間不使用逗號。s that意為“以便, 為了, 使能夠”，可以與in rder that相替換。
e.g. They gt up early s that they culd catch the early bus. 為了能趕上早班車, 他們早早就起床了。 Say slwly s that I can understand yu. 說慢點(diǎn), 好讓我聽明白。 We will cme at eight s that the meeting can begin early. =We will cme at eight in rder that the meeting can begin early.
s…that…引導(dǎo)結(jié)果狀語從句, 意為“如此 ……以至于……”, s后面加形容詞或副詞。e.g. This bk is s interesting that everyne wants t read it. 這本書很有趣, 人人都想看看。 He ran s fast that I culdn’t catch up with him. 他跑得那么快, 我沒趕上他。
s that句型也可以用來引導(dǎo)結(jié)果狀語從句, 意為“因此, 結(jié)果”, 這時其從句中的謂語動詞不與情態(tài)動詞連用。這種結(jié)構(gòu)和s…that…引導(dǎo)的結(jié)果在含義上有很大的區(qū)別。
請比較：He didn’t plan his time well, s that he didn’t finish his wrk in time. 他沒有把時間計劃好, 結(jié)果沒有按時完成這項(xiàng)工作。 (沒按時完成這項(xiàng)工作的原因是沒計劃好時間)It’s s ht that I can’t sleep. 天氣熱得我不能入睡。 (天氣熱到人不能入睡的程度。)
