In the PISA survey, which cmpares reading, math and science knwledge f 15-year-lds arund the wrld, Finland is nt nly the tp Eurpean cuntry but als cmpetes with Asian giants like Shanghai, Singapre and Suth Krea. But what makes the educatinal system in this small cuntry s different frm thers in the western wrld?
Until the 1960s Finland’s schl system had been influenced largely by its neighbr, the Sviet Unin. Mst students left schl after six years; sme went n t private schls.
