Step 1 Listening


Have Ss listen t a piece f music and tell what kind f musical instrument the music is played with.


Step 2 Brainstrming


Have Ss tell as many kinds f musical instrument as pssible by asking the questin: What ther kinds f musical instrument d yu knw? T cllects kinds f musical instrument: rgan, harp, pian, maracas, vilin, saxphne, gne, cymbals, castanets, flute, timpani, tamburine, triangle, drum, xylphne, etc.


Step 3 Creating a situatin (textual authenticity)


Have Ss wrk tgether with his\her partner. Take turns asking fr and giving advice.

Yu want t buy a CD fr yur friend’s birthday, but yu are nt sure what t buy. Ask yur partner t give sme suggestins. Yur partner needs yur advice. Please help him r her t make a decisin.


Step 4 Listening


Listen t the sample dialgue and make sure what the dialgue is abut.


Step 5 Practice


Practice reading the dialgue, using ne f the names f musical instrument mentined abve t replace CD and paying attentin t sentences f asking fr and giving advice.

Have Ss chse ne frm the fllwing situatins t create their wn dialgue.
