Fssils (化石), the preserved remains f ancient life, serve as windws int the Earth’s rich histry. The frmatin f the fssils is a wnderful jurney that unflds ver vast stretches f time, catching gd views f the diversity f life that nce lived n ur planet.
The jurney ften starts with the death f an rganism in a specific envirnment. Whether it’s a plant, animal r micrscpic rganisms, the key factr lies in whether the remains are quickly buried. This initial step is critical t prtect the rganism frm its enemies and envirnmental factrs that culd lead t breakdwn.
As the remains are buried, they experience layers f sediment (沉積層). Over time, mre layers gather, pressing the lwer sediments. This prcess, knwn as sedimentatin, plays a crucial rle in preserving the remains by creating a prtective envirnment that prtects them frm being destryed.
Mineralizatin is als a key perid in the fssilizatin prcess. It invlves the infiltratin (過(guò)濾) f minerals int the rganic tissues f the buried remains. Grundwater, rich in minerals mves thrugh these layers. The minerals replace the riginal rganic material, transfrming the remains int rck-like frms.
Smetimes, fssilizatin ges beynd mineralizatin t a prcess called petrificatin. Petrified fssils ccur when the rganic material is entirely replaced by minerals, ften resulting in a gd cpy f the riginal rganism. This transfrmatin can preserve cmplex details, such as the skeletal features f animals. Fr sfter rganisms r parts like leaves r feathers, the fssilizatin prcess invlves pressure. Under the weight f sediments, these delicate structures flatten but leave behind detailed imprints.
The final step in the jurney cmes when gelgical prcesses expse the fssilized remains. Archaelgists then unearth these treasures, revealing the secrets f Earth’s ancient inhabitants. This scientific explratin cntributes t ur understanding f evlutin, bidiversity, and the ever-changing landscapes that have shaped the histry f life n ur planet.

B. The quick transfrmatin f the remains.
C. The rapid burial f the remains.
D. The mix f grundwater and minerals.
14. Hw can a gd cpy f rganisms frm?
A. By fssils petrified when minerals replace the rganic material.
B. By grundwater mving thrugh them.
C. By accumulating mre pressure n them.
D. By creating a prtective envirnment.
15. What’s the text mainly abut?

hand in hand“手拉手”為固定短語(yǔ),句中的介詞n應(yīng)該改為介詞in。
此句為主從復(fù)合句,賓語(yǔ)從句為強(qiáng)調(diào)句型“it is+被強(qiáng)調(diào)部分+that…”,此句中對(duì)名詞短語(yǔ)the attitude f Ubuntu進(jìn)行強(qiáng)調(diào),故將which改為that。
故將we改為us。
