In tday’s wrld, many f us are s used t typing that we seldm write by hand. Frm texting t typing shpping lists, using a keybard is ften faster and easier. Hwever, scientists have discvered smething surprising: writing by hand can be really gd fr yur brain!
When yu write by hand, yur brain has t wrk harder cmpared t typing. Writing needs cntrlling hw hard yu press the pen and carefully shaping each letter. These need yur bdy and eyes t wrk tgether with the functin f bth being cntrlled by different parts f the brain, helping yu learn and remember things better. On the ther hand, typing requires just tapping keys, which desn’t use as much brainpwer.
In kids, studies shw that writing ABCs, rather than typing them, leads t better and lnger-lasting recgnitin and understanding f letters. “Writing by hand als imprves memry, laying the grund fr their ability t read fluently, write effectively, and learn new things,” says Ramesh, a scientist at the University f Califrnia.
Fr adults, ne main benefit f handwriting is that it simply frces them t slw dwn. During a meeting r lecture, it’s pssible t type what they’re hearing wrd by wrd. But ften, “they’re nt actually prcessing that infrmatin — they’re just typing in the blind,” says Audrey van der Meer. “If taking ntes by hand, they can’t write everything dwn, “she says. The relative slwness frces them t prcess the infrmatin, writing key wrds r phrases and using drawing r symbls t wrk thrugh ideas. “They make the infrmatin their wn,” she says, “which helps it stick in the brain.”
We have a lng histry f using ur hands t create meaning, and this traditin still helps us. In a wrld filled with digital tls, it’s imprtant t make time fr handwriting. Whether fr students, prfessinals, r anyne lking t imprve their learning, taking ntes by hand is nt nly a pwerful tl fr memry and understanding but als cnnects t a natural way f prcessing infrmatin.
24. What can we learn abut handwriting frm paragraph 2?
A. It applies relatively less brainpwer.
B. It des gd t the sense f balance.
C. It needs brain areas t wrk tgether.
D. It requires repeated bdy mvements.
25. What des Ramesh mean?
A. Kids’ grwth is becming difficult.
B. Handwriting prmtes kids’ future learning.
C. Reading mre is f great imprtance fr kids.
D. Typing develps kids’ ability t recgnize wrds.
26. Which f the fllwing is the best title fr the text?
A. The Pwer f Writing by Hand
B. The Lss f Peple in Digital Age
C. The New Discvery by Researchers
D. The Natural Way t Prcess Infrmatin

根據(jù)第二段“Writing needs cntrlling hw hard yu press the pen and carefully shaping each letter. These need yur bdy and eyes t wrk tgether with the functin f bth being cntrlled by different parts f the brain, helping yu learn and remember things better.”(書寫需要控制按筆的力度以及仔細塑造每個字母。
根據(jù)第三段“Writing by hand als imprves memry, laying the grund fr their ability t read fluently, write effectively, and learn new things,” says Ramesh, a scientist at the University f Califrnia. The human being is a “scial animal,” as Aristtle suggested. We have a basic need t be included. Nt enugh scial cnnectin can have a bad effect n bth ur mental (精神的) and physical health.
Over the past several years, my wrkmates and I cnducted 13 experiments abut 1 ,980 peple. We asked them t think abut either experiential purchases (buying experiences) r material (物質(zhì)) purchases ( buying materials) they had made and then rate their thughts and feelings abut thse purchases. In sme f ur studies, peple reprted feeling mre cnnected t smene wh had made the same experiential purchase than t smene wh had made the same material purchase. This shws the fact that experiential purchases are mre central t a persn’s identity. When peple buy the same kind f experience, they feel mre alike and cnnected because they believe these experiences shw mre abut ne’s true sense f self.
Knwing that smene else has a better thing than what yu have can make yu feel mre distant frm them. Hwever, we find that this feeling is nt strng when it cmes t experiences cmpared t material gds.
Mrever, we fund that peple wh were asked t think abut an experience they bught were mre likely t chse scial activities when deciding hw t spend their free time. On the ther hand, thse wh were asked t think abut things they bught preferred slitary activities.
Experiences bring us tgether and give us memries f thse cnnectins that we can lk back n. These memries, in turn, can encurage peple t take part in mre scial activities. After the mney is spent and the experience is ver, purchases f experiences cntinue t strengthen the relatinships they help build.
Our research als pints t anther imprtant cnclusin: cmmunities culd benefit greatly frm prmting activities based n shared experiences. Plicymakers (政策制定者) can help by making public spaces like parks, beaches, and museums mre accessible. Therefre, peple can cme tgether and build strnger cnnectins.
27. What strengthens peple’s cnnectin accrding t the experiments?
A. The sense f respnsibility.
B. The purchase f the same gds.
C. The intentin f being cnnected.
D. The recgnitin f each ther’s identity.
28. What des the underlined wrd “slitary” in paragraph 4 prbably mean?
A. Interesting.B. Separate.C. Imprtant.D. Traditinal.
29. What can be inferred abut the experiential purchase frm paragraph 5?
A. Its rle is easy t replace.
B. Its imprtance is widely knwn.
C. Its prcess is imprtant t recrd.
D. Its value is beynd the immediate enjyment.
30. Why are plicymakers mentined?
A. T inspire readers.B. T explain a strategy.

根據(jù)第二段中“In sme f ur studies, peple reprted feeling mre cnnected t smene wh had made the same experiential purchase than t smene wh had made the same material purchase. This shws the fact that experiential purchases are mre central t a persn’s identity. When peple buy the same kind f experience, they feel mre alike and cnnected because they believe these experiences shw mre abut ne’s true sense f self.(在我們的一些研究中,人們表示與購買了相同物質(zhì)商品的人相比,他們與購買了相同體驗式商品的人感覺更有聯(lián)系。這表明體驗式消費對于一個人的身份認同更為核心。當人們購買相同類型的體驗時,他們會感覺彼此更相似且有聯(lián)系,因為他們認為這些體驗更能展現(xiàn)一個人的真實自我。)”可知,對彼此身份的認同,即因購買相同體驗而產(chǎn)生的對真實自我的共同展現(xiàn),加強了人們之間的聯(lián)系。故選D項。?
【28題詳解】詞句猜測題。通過對比劃線詞句“On the ther hand, thse wh were asked t think abut things they bught preferred slitary activities.(另一方面,那些被要求思考自己所購買物品的人更喜歡slitary活動。)”和前文“Mrever, we fund that peple wh were asked t think abut an experience they bught were mre likely t chse scial activities when deciding hw t spend their free time.(此外,我們發(fā)現(xiàn),那些被要求思考自己購買的體驗的人在決定如何度過空閑時間時,更有可能選擇社交活動。)”
根據(jù)第五段“Experiences bring us tgether and give us memries f thse cnnectins that we can lk back n. These memries, in turn, can encurage peple t take part in mre scial activities. After the mney is spent and the experience is ver, purchases f experiences cntinue t strengthen the relatinships they help build.(體驗將我們聚集在一起,并給我們留下那些可以回顧的聯(lián)系的記憶。這些記憶反過來又可以鼓勵人們參與更多的社交活動。在錢花完、體驗結(jié)束后,體驗式消費繼續(xù)加強它們所幫助建立的關系。)”可知,體驗式消費的價值不僅僅在于當下的享受,還在于它能留下記憶,持續(xù)加強人們之間建立的關系,其價值超越了即時的愉悅。故選D項。?
【30題詳解】推理判斷題。根據(jù)最后一段“Our research als pints t anther imprtant cnclusin: cmmunities culd benefit greatly frm prmting activities based n shared experiences. Plicymakers (政策制定者) can help by making public spaces like parks, beaches, and museums mre accessible. Therefre, peple can cme tgether and build strnger cnnectins.(我們的研究還指出了另一個重要結(jié)論:社區(qū)可以從推廣基于共享體驗的活動中受益匪淺。政策制定者可以通過讓公園、海灘和博物館等公共空間更易于進入來提供幫助。因此,人們可以聚集在一起,建立更牢固的聯(lián)系。)”可知,提到政策制定者是為了提出建議,建議政策制定者采取措施,讓公共空間更便于人們使用,從而促進基于共享體驗的活動,加強人們之間的聯(lián)系。故選C項。
