What abut the leaves?葉子的作用呢?這是 What abut 引的省略句。英語(yǔ)中“What abut ”是一句常用的客套話,它后面可接名詞、代詞或動(dòng)詞-ing 形式。它的功能可不少呢。
1.詢問(wèn)情況或打聽消息。當(dāng)對(duì)方談的事情不明確,需要詢問(wèn)清楚時(shí),也可用這一句型:e.g.—I'd like a cup f tea. What abut yu? —I want t talk t yu. What abut?
2.向?qū)Ψ教岢鼋ㄗh或請(qǐng)求,相當(dāng)于句型“Wuld yu like ”,語(yǔ)氣很委婉。 abut having sme bread? =Wuld yu like sme bread? What abut playing ftball nw? =Wuld yu like playing ftball nw?
3.寒暄時(shí)用作承接上下文的轉(zhuǎn)折語(yǔ)。e.g.I'm a student. What abut yu?Our English teacher is gd. What abut yurs?
4.詢問(wèn)天氣或身體等狀況 abut the weather in yur city? What abut yur mther? Yu can't keep her t tired.
5.征求對(duì)方的看法或意見。 abut this bike? What abut his playing ftball?
